- GLASGOW CALEDONIAN UNIVERSITY MENS FOOTBALL
This site has been set up to let players know of future events such as matches, training, nights out, club meetings and also to have a bit of banter.
- Freshers 08/09
- If your coming to the great Caley next year and interested in representing the club in the freshers tournament then leave a message on this page. The tournament is in October and its the wednesday after freshers week. We'll be playing against Glasgow and Strathclyde, two of the other Glasgow city universities.
Due to a large amount of freshers signing up for football trials during the first week, we're going to hold the first set of trials at the start of that week for freshers who contact before via this page or email. Usually every year there's quite a few at the trials which means many good players don't actually get spotted so we're going to spread it out into 2-3 trial nights.

- What league do we play in?
- Currently our 1st and 2nd team are both in 4B, while the 3rd team are in 5B. Its safe to admit that this year's campaign hasn't gone to plan.
However with increased training sessions by qualified SFA coaches next year combined with the talent at our university, promotion for the 1sts and 3rds next year are realistic targets we are aiming to achieve.
At the moment, the commitee are looking at different options for next year's Saturday team on whether continueing in the league they were in or changing to a more suitable league.
Our university at the moment does not quite cater for the sports teams needs to release players on wednesday afternoons so if your course timetable unfortunately clashes with playing then you are more than welcome to try out for the saturday team.
- Night Out
- When its comes to our university, you will be suprised by how easy it is to join in with the football banter even if your shy at first. Most of the more experienced players are quite open to getting freshers pissed and having a laugh together so don't worry if you don't know anyone to start of with.
- Sponsorship
- Last year, Aldo's company (RESPONSE) bought us a brand new set of Nike Strips - in the Caley colours and emrboidered with our Uni logo. We're currently discussing the prospect of sponsorship with a number of bars and clubs; the terms would be related to us going back there for drinks/food after games on a Wednesday and Saturday.
- Tour
- Each year, there is a tour which is mainly made up of the Mens Football, Rugby and Woman's Hockey teams which usually goes ahead during the easter holidays. Last easter's tour was to Rimini and if you wanna check out the photos from that then go ahead. The teams don't really go out to play the sports seriously because the main point of tour is to get wrecked everday and have some good old drunken fun
