- In 1997 Bear Grylls became the youngest Briton ever to climb Mount Everest, months after breaking his back in three places during his three year spell in the British Special Forces (21 SAS) in a horrific parachuting accident in Southern Africa. Since then he has circumnavigated the British Isles on a jetski (2000), crossed the frozen seas of the Atlantic Ocean on an open rigid inflatable boat (2003), faced the rigours of the French Foreign legion for a Channel 4 documentary series, Escape to the Legion, and has hosted an 8-part survival series called Born Survivor on Channel 4. He has flown over the summitt of Mt. Everest in a paramotor for GKN Mission Everest and raised £1 million for charity in doing so. Bear is also a bestselling author, with books accounting his many adventures. His latest book, which accompanies his new series is out now, called Born Survivor: Bear Grylls. Please join us in paying respects to this inspirational figure.

New video and Bear in the USA
I've just put up a new video on YouTube that is also on this page, of one of Bear's lesser known exploits when he broke the world record for the highest every dinner party! Enjoy!
This week Bear has been in the USA promoting the new series of Man vs Wild, and giving interviews on Today Show, Conan O Brien, and David Letterman. Take a look at his blog for more:
