About Me

Me, Myself, and I
Caterpillar Jones will be conceived in a crusty cosmonauts motel on the third ring of Saturn, one night in 2046. A pay-per-tune mp9 player finally croaks its last Jupiterian chant, leaving frustrated star-seekers to their own devices. Dateline 2006: The Kerbs supreme bassist Graham Keogh and crooning Ray McGinty, former singer of Daymaker and The Idiots but more importantly, father of Jemima (soon to be Irelands first astronaut to land on Saturn, you see where this is going, right?) decide the universe has earned the right to be amazed, astonished, awe-struck by music, the like of which has never been heard before! Out with blandness, squealing and techno pop, the time has come for Caterpillar Jones to reward us all for our patience. Ambient lyrics, lavish beats diffused with tinkling keys and some very untoward sampling have diffused into an inimitable, unmistakable groove of Caterpillar Jones. Musical minds reaching for stars that shine. Heuston, we are ready for take off!

    Hey there!!

    Dave from Hotpress here...
Just wanted to tell you about a great Hot Press initiative for Irish acts, signed and unsigned....

    The Tisch Music Video Programme:

Just email us an mp3 of a song...
12 students from the Tisch School of Arts, New York have just arrived in Dublin. They listen to all the submitted tracks and each picks a song to make a music video for - at no cost to the artist.

Acts that have had videos made include Republic of Loose, The Frames, Royseven, Laura Izibor, Neosupervital - and a whole host of rising acts you might not (yet) be familiar with.

DEADLINE for entries is FEB 4th (so best get moving!)

    Full details available HERE...
