Smiffy

The best dressed Catholic we ever stalked.

People
God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit, JPII (rip), Pope Benedict XVI, St. Vincent De Paul, Our Lady, St. Bernadette, St. Francis, All of our myspace and bebo pals.
Who are we?
We're the people who have both breathed life into and shook up Catholic Clothing. A beer inspired idea in late 2006 has led to us selling fresh, funky and sometimes traditional themed streetwise clothing with a Catholic twist all over Europe, America, Canada, Oz, New Zealand and beyond.

We're 100% faithful to the Church, it's teachings and it's Sacraments.

We hope you are too.
Who is CWA?
Ha. Now that would be telling. There are a few of us involved now and again and we work in partnership with our manufacturer in Germany.
How do we buy the stuff?
You buy online - www.catholicswithattitude.com. Whilst we design and market the goods, they are sold by our partners at Spreadshirt.

Orders are normally dispatched within a couple of working days and it's completely safe and secure for online purchasing.
Do you sell elsewhere?
No. CWA designs are not sold elsewhere. It means we can control the pricing which means you don't get ripped off. We don't have a shop or retail outlet. All sales are through the internet.
I think you're great.
Thank you. You're not bad yourself either. We try our best. What we don't create or design ourselves we've sourced from all over Euope
How can I speak to someone?
If you'd like to know about us, then Skype users can contact us on "CATHOLICSWITHATTITUDE" or you can get us on the dog-and-bone by calling 0141 416 3191 (outside UK? Call int.code+00141 416 3191)

For Customer Service enquiries, please DO NOT contact the addresses / numbers above. Please contact our Sales Partner (Spreadshirt) by emailing service@spreadshirt.net

  • A few folks have been asking us about this....

The Press has been full of news this week about the Clerical Abuse in Ireland and the institutional cover ups that have existed for too long. Many people have been asking us what we think about it (for a few reasons) and here's what we have to say.

CWA is a business that sells clothing to Catholics and never hides it's loyalty to the God and his church. We're people that go to Mass, say our prayers, and make the same mistakes in life as everyone else does. We all have jobs and interests outside what we do here, and whilst we're not going to share too much about what they are, it's sufficient enough to say that we have more than a bit of experience working with the marginalised, the victimised, and, the vulnerable.

God loves people. All people. He wants only the very best for them. So does the church. But in all walks of life there are people who only want for themselves and will do anything to get that. That can be money, stature, or in this case, something far more sinister.

In life, that lack of self control or greed can lead people to do wrong - to specifically abuse trust and then use their position to do their own thing. Not God's, not their employer's, but their own thing. And the fear of getting caught brings them together to act, collude or control as a group.

We feel that those still alive who've harmed others, (whether acting as individuals or as groups) should be brought to justice regardless of what their job, vocation, or career is. Like we said, God (and the Church) want what's best for us, and God's a God of truth and justice.

We love our church and we hope it can learn from this. In many places it's the model of best practice in working with vulnerable people, but, there's still much to be done.

    (1) Do the right thing by the victims and their families.
    (2) Be transparent, let people see that the Church's reaction is more than damage limitation.
    (3) Prune. Get rid of the dead wood.
    (4) Apologise to the priests and clerics who have had to endure the flack because colleagues were abusing whilst management / hierarchy did nothing or made it worse. A lot of good, hard working clergy deserved and still deserve better of you.

For the people like us, we really need to remember that Justice won't come about until we sort some stuff out.

    (1) Cracking jokes about it takes away from the seriousness of it all.
    (2) If people find the scandal funny or use it for 1-upmanship, victims won't come forward.
    (2) Labelling all Clergy and Religious as "pedos" allows the guilty to get away free and the innocent to get tarnished with the same brush. (Remember, The bosses now might not even have been the bosses then).
    (4) That's it's okay to correct people telling false tales or cracking jokes. They need to be asked outright if they think abuse is funny. Also, people need to remember that the victims are / were Catholic. A lot of the bigots' jibes flying about just now suggest that Catholics are evil abusers etc. In short, this sort of rubbish suggests that victims and their families only brought this sort of tragedy upon themselves. Rubbish.

    There's it is.

What CWA have to say about it all!

  • Sorry if you've read this before....but it needs saying!

We only accept people as Bebo friends if their page is in good taste. We've had a handfull of people trying to add us this week and tbh, we can't help but wonder why.

One lad even tried to prove his Catholicism to us by sending us the words to "Let the People sing". We suggested he send us a list of the Mysteries of the Rosary instead.

    4 days have passed.

    No reply.

Anyway, all cards on the table.

If there is any trace or hint of indecent images or language, then we will not accept the owner as friend. If there is any sign of hatred expressed against groups, communities or individuals, then, the same again applies - we'll decline your offer as a Bebo friend.

We're Catholics and to be honest swearing offends us, hatred saddens us, and indecent images makes us wonder if you'll ever find TRUE love.

    No exceptions.

    Get well soon.
