EDUCATE, CULTIVATE & LIBERATE
The last three marches in May 07', 08' & 09' were a big success & this year saw two marches, one in Dublin & Cork. The turn out was good for both & the atmosphere was great. About 1000 people participated in Dublin & about 500 in Cork. The march was great craic, lots of fantastic people & there was no trouble from the Gardai, I think they turned a blind eye a few times.
After the march in Dublin most people went into the garden to do what they do best. All in all it was a big success & another step in the direction of legalisation.
Legalisation might happen soon, & it might not so we have to keep fighting. Next year we expect a much larger turnout and hopefully more marches, but we need every one of you guys & girls out there!
Join Legalise Cannabis Ireland to show your support for legalisation.

www.legalisecannabis.ie - Principles...
- We believe the use of cannabis ought to be a matter of choice and not of law. The prohibition of cannabis inhibits the use of a beneficial resource and has not worked in it's aim of combating criminal gangs and. It has in fact made these vicious gangs a lot more powerful and a huge danger to society. The legalisation of cannabis is a very important step that should be taken to benefit the people and their environment.
- Aims
- To achieve the full legalisation and utilisation of the cannabis plant for the good of the people, on a local, national and international level. To encourage extensive research into the many beneficial uses of cannabis including industrial, social and medical uses for the good of the people. To end all criminal prosecutions for the use of cannabis as a social or private relaxant. To provide a voice for those in society persecuted and prosecuted for cannabis activities that victimise none.
PROHIBITION DOES NOT WORK AND NEVER HAS! - Young Toker's!!
- We do not believe in promoting use of cannabis to anyone, cannabis use is an individual decision that should be made after educating oneself about benefits and risks, but particularly to people with young minds/brains that are not fully developed and may be at higher risk to negative effects of psychoactive substances. However wrong or right, it is fact that people (including young people) use and abuse cannabis. Therefore we believe it is better to try and educate people, about the dangers and risks involved and hope they make the right decision for themselves
- First Irish Coffee Shop!
- The First Coffee Shop's in Holland, were not opened because it was made legal, they were opened because it wasn't!
People who believed in Cannabis Freedom&were willing to go to jail for it did just that. They opened up, got locked up, got out, opened straight back up again!!
Power to the People!!! - Scared of..

On September 19th there will be a protest outside the Canadian Embassy in Dublin to show support for Canadian Marc Emery. Marc is a well-known activist, Vancouver retail store owner, and editor of Cannabis Culture Magazine. He was raided by Canadian police and the US DEA on July 29th, 2005, and arrested for selling marijuana seeds over the Internet.
On September 10th 2005, over 40 demonstrations were held around the world to protest Marc's arrest for extradition to the United States. Locations included Moscow, Prague, Wellington, Sydney, Mexico City, Paris, and London.
This year there are going to be protests on September 19th globally to show support for Marc and put pressure on those who wish to see him extradited as he is due to be sentenced on September 28th 2009. He is facing 5 years for selling cannabis seeds and the cannabis community worldwide are going to protest at this unjust sentence.
The details for the rally are:
September 19th at 2pm in front of The Canadian Embassy at 7-8 Wilton Terrace, Dublin 2

MEDICAL MARAJUANA DAY
PLANTING THE SEEDS OF MEDICAL MARIJUANA DAY
On Thursday November 15th there will be a demonstration outside the department of justice (St Stephens Green) to raise awareness about marijuana being used as a medicine.
Many people with terminal and debilitating illnesses such as HIV/AIDS, Cancer, multiple sclerosis, epilepsy, glaucoma, anorexia, nausea and migranes use marijuana as it is the only thing that they find effective.
The Demo will take place from 1-2. We are asking people to show support and solidarity and make it clear to the government that prohibition does not work and these people are not criminals!!
HOPE TO SEE YOU THERE.2 komentarzy 751 dni

CANNABIS Q & A
CANNABIS QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS
Q: Is cannabis harmful to health?
A: Cannabis is carcinogenic and can further complicate mental illness. Not pure cannabis. See The Lancet and Judge Young, The Merck Manual, LaGuardia, Wootton, Shafer, Jamaican Studies, Costa Rica Studies.
However it depends of course on the manner of consumption.Eating cannabis is the safest way to consume it ,vaporising it is also much safer than smoking as there is no burning, the THC is simply boiled off and enters the lungs as a vapour rather than as smoke.
Q: Is cannabis a drug?
Q: Is cannabis poisonous? / Is there a fatal dose? A: No. It has been established that there is no conceivable toxic amount of cannabis for human beings. Medicinal substances frequently have a dosage above which death may follow after consumption. This quantity is known as the LD-50 rating - that is the dose above which 50 per cent of animals tested have dies. It has never been possible to give enough cannabis to an animal to kill it. It is estimated that the LD-50 for cannabis is around 1:20,000, which means that an average human would have to be given at least 20,000 times as much cannabis as is contained in the average joint or spliff. Based upon the dosage supplied to patients on the NIDA program in the USA, this would mean consumption of some 1500 pounds in weight of cannabis within 15 minutes to induce death. This of course is impossible and cannabis can accurately be described as non-toxic.
The figure of 20,000, sometimes quoted as 40,000, was based upon research carried out in the laboratory on mice using concentrated THC.
Q: Does cannabis intoxicate?
A: Not in the sense of losing control, which is what intoxication does. Toxins produce intoxication; cannabis is not toxic. The word "intoxicate" is semantically incorrectly applied to cannabis.
Q: Is cannabis THC?
A: Tetrahydrocannabinol is one of hundreds of cannabinoids in cannabis. THC is not cannabis, cannabis is not THC.
Q: What are the effects of cannabis?
A: Cannabis relaxes alpha waves produced by the brain. The effect is usually mild, relaxing and pleasant. Any undesirable or unpleasant effects or high dosed or in the novice wears off as the cannabis wears off. It can produce giggles, increase concentration, stimulate appetite, help sleep etc. Many artists and sportsmen use cannabis. We must be careful to distinguish between the effects of pure cannabis and those of the dubious quality substances often sold on the street, which may contain drugs.
Q: Does cannabis damage the reproductive system?
A: No. This false claim was based on the work of Dr Gabriel Nahas who experimented with cells in Petri dishes. The scientific community has rejected Nahas' generalisation from the laboratory dish to human beings. Studies of humans have failed to reveal any damage. Moreover we all know plenty of people who have used cannabis for years and they all have plenty of normal, healthy children. See also Greek Studies.
Q: Does cannabis damage the immune system?
A: No. Again there is no evidence. Two studies in 1978 and one in 1988 showed that cannabis actually stimulates the immune system.
Q: Is today's cannabis more potent than in the past?
No. It is about the same. In the past delays in analysis effected results. Potency cannot be determined by the amount of THC alone. The most potent form of cannabis that was probably that sold as 'American Cannabis' in the 1920's.
Q: What does cannabis smoke contain?
A: Over two thousand different chemicals, none of which produces harm. Compared with coffee, which contains over 800 volatile chemicals, only 21 of which have ever been tested on animals and 16 of those caused cancers in rats.
Q: How many convicted annually?
A: In 1994 there were over 72,000 convictions in the UK. This was 83% of 'drugs' convictions. This costs hundreds of millions of pounds.
Q: How many people die as a result of cannabis use?
A: None. Ever. It is not toxic, there is n3 komentarzy 763 dni

whens the next march boys?
you should organise two events a year.
I agree with looney direct action has more potential.
Why not pull a 4 20 job everyone spark up at the same time and the pigs cant do shit if there are enough people.
Look lads, this is what ye need to be doing.
http://www.change.org/ideas/116/view...
A legalisation candidate hasn't a hope of being elected in Ireland not to mind enough to make a significant difference. Direct action is the only way to get results.
