- The key players in Naked Opera are sultry singer Alison Barton, Italian heartthrob conductor Marco Romano and pianist/composer/getaway driver David Finlay. Our repertoire is mostly classical (but includes a few jazz and popular numbers too) and our mission is to show that music never ages - it doesn't matter when it was written, you just have to market it in a modern way!
Alison and David have recorded the group's first CD, and we're lining up a lot of exciting new projects which will show off Marco's talents too. The company staged the world premier of David's comedy musical, The Hare And The Tortoise, and is also planning the first performance of David's choral/orchestral work, For Freedom Alone, based on an edited text of the Declaration of Arbroath.

Just letting you know
The Bonny Fisher Lad is one of the Songs Of The North (along with Elsie Marley and The Water Of Tyne). They are all folk songs from north-east England and they were arranged specially for Alison by Clifford Bevan, who used to be a member of the Temperance Seven. Clifford also wrote a set of songs for voice and clarinet to celebrate Alison and Marco's wedding (Marco being a clarinettist as well as a conductor).
