Blog? Part 1.
I always promised myself id write a blog. I am no literary genius nor do I pretend to be, I see this as an expression, be it judged or not, I don't care. The first time I ever heard of a blog was when Tom Murphy sent me a link through MSN, it was his blog. Although it was only a few posts I began to read the events that happened in his life over the last few months as he saw it. I began to read how a girl named Charlotte broke his heart, how he just moved to New York and was unhappy living with his roommate and childhood friend Alex. I was due to move to New York a few weeks later to take a gap year from college, due to the persuasion of the one and only, Tom Murphy.
Tom and I's meeting came about by chance. Living in the north of Ireland/Northern Ireland/the six counties comes religious divide. This divide is shown to naive Americans of burnt out houses and petrol bombs all over the place, but in reality it hasn't been like that for many a year. They developed a programme to take one Catholic youth and one Protestant youth to America for the summer and 'bond' and to see that other other side isn't that bad, fuckin Americans. Of course i participated in this programme at the behest of my friend Ricki himself a Protestant. Ricki was supposed to be appointed Catholic parter to go to America with, but the guy backed out and Ricki was instructed to find a parter himself buy the leader of our group, and he picked me. God bless you Ricki.
The host family were an elderly couple who lived in a picturesque Maryland suburb about 25 minutes from Baltimore, The Wonder Years material with the nice garden, the squirrels and oak tress all accompanied by leaves, plenty of them (and it was the fuckin summer!!). Jim and Irene sent letters, pictures and emails to us about a month and a half before our arrival. I was lucky to get a picture of Irene standing beside a sign post that said, im not even joking 'Bald Knob'. ???!. Ricki received a picture of Jim which quite disturbed us cos he looked like a weird old man. Freaky.
The first two weeks were hell for Ricki. On the application i had said i liked history and reading, i could of liked the history of porn or reading leaflets for all they knew. Nevertheless Jim took it upon himself to visit every museum in fucking Maryland, which Ricki detested. After two weeks of this Ricki had all but snapped. We mowed the huge lawn and lay on the grass to get some kind of tan, i listened to Ricki trying to figure out how to get going home early, when out of the blue two girls walked across our freshly mowed lawn towards us. Shane is Wasted - By Tom Murphy
So, today I had class at 2 o clock. On my way out, Shane (as is his habit) suggested we meet in Times Square when I am finished class. I told him to call me at 3:30 so I should know not to get on the train home. I got out of class and waited for the call, which (not surprisingly) didn't come. So I went home. The house was deserted. Alex was at work, Shane might have been kidnapped for all I knew.
I decided not to worry about it and waited. It's 7:40 right now, and Shane walked in the door ten minutes ago smiling as though he'd just won the Olympics. I half expected him to be holding a bag of beer in his hands, and in a way, he was. It just wasn't in his hands. It was all in his blood and Shane was completely bombed. And still is.
He says he's smiling like a musketeer, which me managed to say properly. This is only really surprising considering a moment ago he tried to tell me that "We have slum craic". Now he's elaborating- explaining it to me- giving me all the necesary details. "We have some craic. Some craic is what we have."
Thanks, Shane.
I hope he'll stop laughing soon, or I'm afraid he may suffocate, and that would be the end of our craic.
Alright, a short entry, but a necesary one.

Not much happening here, hence the fleeing to New York! lol I'm still in Probation at the minute but temporary contract, so could be unemployed next month. I was thinking of coming out in January for a month to see how it goes, been looking at short term lets. How you getting on anyway, Uni going ok or are you just taking advantage of a whole campus full of girls?!
