Tutto su di me
Living a busy life in a tiny village in the Highlands of Scotland. Been back for over a year, and finally getting myself involved in things. Joined the ShowBoaters a while back - so having fun taking part in all the drama! Enjoyed helping the young ShowBoaters put their production together too!

Just bought a wee flat in Kingussie... but don't actually seem to spend much time there!
La mia metà
Dawn Jeffs
Music
Robbie Williams, Green Day, Snow Patrol, Reservoir Dogs Soundtrack, Johnny Cash, Presidents of the USA, Kiss, The Kooks, The Fratellis, Paulo Nutini, Feeder, Fun Lovin Criminals, Muse, Proclaimers, Lily Allen, Amy Winehouse, Seconds to Insanity, Amplifico....
Films
I'll watch anything.
Cheesey ones - Top Gun (I feel the need, the need for speed), Dirty Dancing, girly pap. anything that's got dancing in it.
Other faves - Team America, Sideways, Die Hard, Shawshank Redemption, Brokeback Mountain, Bad Boys, Walk the Line, Run Fat Boy Run, Finding Nemo, Rocky films, Back to the Future films, Superman, Indiana Jones, The Jungle Book, The Goonies... the list goes on!
Sports
Have kinda changed my opinion on sports slightly (in that I no longer hate it)... been well into circuit training for a couple of months now, am running the Race for Life in Edinburgh, Formula 1 is great to watch, enjoy going to the odd rugby match and totally fell for Aussie Rules Footie whilst in Oz. C'mon the Saints!

Have really got into Aussie Rules footie. Come on the Saints!

  • Darwin - Melbourne - Adelaide - Melbourne - Canberra - Sydney - Port Douglas - Cairns

Wow - been a lot of places since Darwin and the terror of Coroborree Park! I worked in Darwin for 6 weeks and shared a flat with Dawn and three German girls... who were lovely until they fell out!! They're still nice... just individually instead of together!!

Anyway, flew to Melbourne in the middle of November and spent 6 weeks there, exploring everywhere on foot. We were pretty broke and were having a hard time finding jobs so got a little bored... but we entertained ourselves by attending Neighbours Night... I know I'd been before, but I couldn't resist going again, especially when I heard that the 'stars' were going to be Toadie, Steph and Stu. And ooooooh Stu is luuurrvely!

Then came the Robbie concert at Telstra Dome - and the Robster did not disappoint. We managed to get to a standing point about 1 peeps back from the stage and so got some quite good pics! What a night... it was great.

The next day Dawnie and I flew to Adelaide to meet my mum and Graham and then we all hired a car and drove back to Melbourne, via Hahndorf, some wineries and the Great Ocean Road... it was a spectular drive. Gorgeous scenery! Although when in the back of the car the road did make me slightly queezy... very windy!

Xmas eve we were all booked on the Neighbours tour... and we got to see Ramsay Street - it was really tiny but really cool. We also got to visit Erinsborough High as well as driving past the studios... where the insides of the houses are filmed and Lassiters sets etc are situated... we wanted to go in!!

We spent a rather chilly Christmas in Melbourne... their coldest in 72 years apparently. There was lots of rain and even some hailstones at one point... I even made a wee snowman, and we spent the day inside scoffing the great feast that my uncle Rod created and playing Scattergories and Jenga in front of the fire.

We all left again the day after boxing day and made our way down to Phillip Island to see all the Little Penguins come in after a hard day at see... there were hundreds and hundreds of the wee things coming up to make their hike across the sand and up the hills to their burrows... so cute!

We stopped in a few coastal places before heading inland to quiet Canberra - Australia's capital... where apparently noone lives! Or at least that's how it seemed until we found the one street with restaurants etc, where everyone seemed to be collating. We got freakishly large hailstones in Canberra too - terrifying when hitting off the roof of the car.

Next day we were in Sydney and that's where we celebrated New Year - with a great view of the Opera House and Sydney Bridge - fireworks galore! I climbed the Bridge on New Year's day too - awesome views of the city and harbours!

Then spent a week chilling out in Port Douglas with Mum and Graham - went diving on the oh-so-gorgeous Barrier Reef and visited a animal sanctuary with crocs, koalas, snakes and cassowaries. Really cool.

And now I'm in CAirns after waving goodbye to mum and Grhaam yesterday and I'm in my last month of travelling now... and it should be lots of fun! I will write about it once it's all happened and when I get another chance.

Hope all is well with everyone.

  • Darwin to Melbourne

I haven't updated this for ages...

Spent six weeks, or thereabouts, in Darwin... working away. It was a lovely town but I must say there wasn't much to do for six weeks... especially in the ever-increasing temperatures that come up at the beginning of the Wet Season.

Dawn and I visited the Botanice Gardens, the Beach Market, the Museum and Art Gallery and Crocodylus Park... and just about every other touristy place we could find!

We shared a flat with three German girls who all fell out but made up again... that was a little stressful but it was sorted in the end. And we might meet them again in Sydney, and I'll definitely be meeting Silvia again in January for our trip down the East Coast.

Now, Dawn and I are in Melbourne and back to looking for jobs... although we have managed to squeeze in some sightseeing too. The weather has been quite cold for the past three days but the sun is out today so that's good!

More news on my 'official' blog... I can't be bothered typing it all out again :) www.imogenation.blogspot.com

Only four weeks til mum and Graham come out... woohoo.

Seattle is grand, heading into the 'fall' now and it actually feels quite like those Edinburgh Autumn days. Hope life is treating you well.

Hiya, glad to hear you're getting on well - must have been a bit of a culture shock moving back from Edinburgh! Sounds like you're keeping yourself pretty busy. I'm doing fine, the kids definitely keep me on my toes but they're great fun too. I'm starting my degree in September though so things might not be quite so rosy then, I'll probably be tearing my hair out!

Speak to you soon, take care xXx
