Off:beat swing open it’s doors for the first time on Friday 3rd April 2009 to bring you a very special Launch Party featuring one of the most exciting up & coming DJ's/producers on the circuit. Off:beat residents Jamie McKenzie, Ewan Smith & Chris Graham, who are currently making waves throughout the Edinburgh club scene, aim to bring you a session of the very best and upfront in Deep to Tech-House through to Techno. We hope you can join us to kick off a fresh and new era in Edinburgh clubbing and for what is gonna be a seriously good opening party!!!
We welcome Crosstown Rebels up & coming DJ/producer Jamie Jones to help us celebrate the Launch Night. Jamie first appeared on the scene playing at his own warehouse parties, before moving on to spend a few seasons working and playing in Ibiza mixing it with some of the worlds top players. As a DJ, Jamie Jones is one of the most reliable players on the circuit, and has recently been touted as the future of UK techno. His groove-led, deep house sets which offer a clear tip-of-the-cap to the Detroit sounds of yesteryear are among the most well-constructed and thought provoking around. Jamie is also known for rocking the world famous Circo Loco @ DC10 in Ibiza, and those who have been lucky enough to catch Jamie there will know we’re in for a treat this April.
Jamie Jones is best known for the deep minimal track 'Amazon'. Released on Dan Ghenacia's Freak n Chic output in 2006, the 12" has since become the label's biggest-selling single. 'Amazon' proved to be especially popular with the Germans, popping up on Tiesfchwarz's 'Fabric 29', closing out the RA.005 podcast by Kiki, and Steve Bug's 'Bugnology 2' compilations. He also released tracks on Poker Flat, Cocoon & Get Physical, among others. Most recently, he collaborated with Simon Baker to release new label 'Get Digital's debut track 'Kaskazi', which turned out to be one of the hottest tracks of 2008...............
