Runaway Helpline is a 24 hour confidential helpline for runaways operated by the charity Missing People, offering help and advice to young people who have run away from home or care, or who have been forced to leave home.

If appropriate, Runaway Helpline can help young people to contact their family or carer or a relevant support agency, such as social services or a young person’s project, or help them to find a place of safety.

Young people run away from home or care for many reasons and they are often scared and in dangerous situations. Runaway Helpline offers non-judgemental support and the time and space to explore the options with a young person. Runaway Helpline can contact family or carers via a message or a three-way call which can open the lines of communication and enable a young person to return home, if it is safe to do so.
