Welcome to The Gap Year 2008
Gap Year HQ have sent six travellers – Amy, Andre, Cara, Dave, Lewis and Roxanne – around the world on a six-month trip of a lifetime. We’ll be bringing you a brand new video every single day of the week, giving you the latest exciting and memorable footage from every corner of the world. As well as this, the travellers will be sharing their own photos, blogs and videos on their individual profile pages, which you can check out below.

You're One In A Million
We've been waiting for this moment for a while... Today, our profile views counter finally ticked round to show ONE MILLION views. Hooray!
That doesn't quite tell the full story - there were over half a million views on our old profile, then there's all the travellers' pages, plus all the other ways you can view The Gap Year such as Youtube and iTunes... but it's still an impressive milestone to pass.
HQ would like to thank everyone who helped us hit the million mark - now let's aim for a billion!

Low Profiles
Now that the show is over (for now) and the dust has settled (for now), our six dormant travellers will now be switching over to their old profiles - the ones they used to apply for the show so very long ago.
Don't worry - all the blogs, pictures and comments will remain right where they are. The only difference is that the travellers will no longer be accessing the profiles or replying to comments/messages. If you want to stay in contact with the guys and gals that brightened up our days for six glorious months, you can reach them here:

Happy ONE YEAR! May 21st 2008, one year ago today, was the day I boarded a plane and began the most epic adventure of my life along with 5 other amazing individuals. Too bad season 2 didn't happen! Maybe someday guys! To all the great memories! Life was forever changed.

I'm on the hunt for some high paying summer jobs to poentially take another gap year next winter, if i don't return to my academics. Winters here are harsh so I wouldn't mind skipping town, or rather the country, from October to March next year

by Mike 36 weeks agoI've really got to hand it to the researchers here, they really did an amazing job, they managed picked out great places to visit and really likable entertaining characters! It's NEVER dull with these guys on the show!
This show just seems perfect for bebo, it's reality which works well! It's a god send you guys didn't try to get crazy over the top characters (like the whole big bruv team have been doing.. yeah, I did read the "from the makers of big brother" *awkward silence*) but really, smart move choosing completely relatable characters!
The only thing I have against the show is it kicks out episodes daily, it's hard to keep up, but the good thing about the internet is that it's selective viewing so that's not even a big problem. (Y)
