American Princes' 2006 release LESS & LESS was praised by Magnet Magazine as "Essential Listening" and was ranked by them and other critics as one of the top records of 2006. Magnet made note in their selection that this Little Rock band's haunting, jagged rock stood as a monument to pioneers The Pixies and Big Star.

Though thrilled to be compared with those musical icons, American Princes have since chosen to turn to less traditional formats for an indie-rock band. For their next record the band traveled to New York to work with hip-hop producer Chuck Brody (Wu Tang Clan, Peter Bjorn and John) and latin/r&b producer Chuck Flores (J Lo) over the summer of 2007. The resulting sound was crafted during the making of this, American Princes' 3rd album (OTHER PEOPLE, Yep Roc, 200 , and is not to be missed.
