Originally working with Largs School of Motoring now independant, with a personal pass rate nearer 80% rather than the local average of 50%. Its real teamwork initially getting to grips with the car,gaining good control and making it do what you want it to do, then actually learning to "drive". Your aim is to make me redundant eventually relying on me only for directions. Next you need to demonstrate to the examiner you are responsible enough to earn the right to drive solo..yep TEST time.

(5 days ago) me too! | Reply | | You've Passed !!!! | | Well done you!! just take care because getting your mitts on a full licence doesnt guarantee your a perfect driver, thats as much down to your attitude, so take your time, get experience. Next time your approaching a potential hazard you wont have your instructor patiently waiting to see if you are paying attention and planning ahead. Drive the way you were taught , it keeps you and others safe.

Remember i am not teaching you to pass the test, i am teaching you how to keep yourself and others safe, when you reach the stage of having a full licence dont forget the skills you have worked hard and paid good money to learn or you or some other innocent soul will become part of the shocking statistics of accidents and carnage on our roads. A level of maturity is required for you and your famliles peace of mind. | | | the F word ! | | I could claim almost a 100% pass rate, because everyone capable of achieving test standard does pass, the majority 1st time. FORGET THE MYTH that examiners can only pass a certain amount (QUOTA'S), or certain days are better/worse, on the day its how well you have prepared and drive that counts.Examiners have a difficult and very responsible job, with only 40 minutes to assess your abilities. I can speak from experience in saying that being unprepared/ inexperienced is the main reason why nerves/ loss of concentration are often blamed when the examiner says" unfortunatley you have not passed today" I failed on my 1st attempt at my driving instructor test due to inexperience, but am now 1 of the best local instructors with a higher grade only achieved by the top 30%, and a pass rate well above the average driving school. | | | Are you ready? | | If the Examiner doesnt feel your ready to cope on your own, ( even if you feel an unjust or pedantic decision was made) take it on the chin, get over it, keep practising, keep trying. your only a failure if you give up. But whether your discussing a1st test or retest with your instructor there is a simple equation. No practice = No pass. | | | Learn To Drive. Largs Driving School. | | I have taught people from ages 17 right up to 70 !!, and been very lucky in having such nice customers, it certainly makes my job easier and enjoyable. The irony of this business is that the larger the driving school and the better their marketing , the more expensive they are, not because you get better tuition, but because you have to pay for their advertising, admin and wages of staff who have no impact on the quality of tuition you recieve.
Independant instructors without the burden of weekly franchise payments are able to charge slightly less, but often provide better tuition.
If you can afford to have more lessons over a shorter timespan although the initial outlay seems more expensive, generally in the long run you save money. well done to all who passed up tp 5th april 2009, helping me achieve my best pass rate to date.! more are passing with less cost, due to good instruction, the fiesta diesel being an ideal car to learn in and the extra practice many are managing with parents/ family. keep up the good work.

Good idea ,if you havn't had a chance to eat before your pretest lesson , to stop for a break and a snack before heading in to sit your driving test.
