    Ireland's Wife-Carrying Championships were on in Co Kerry today.

    The event, which was inspired by a similar competition in Finland, was being staged as part of the Sneem Family Festival.

    The contest involved women being carried over a 250m course, including dry and water obstacles.

    Advertisement
    Organisers say couples did not have to married to take part, but they had to be over 18.

    Contestants who weighed less than 49kg were given a loaded rucksack to make up the minimum weight.

    Dropping a wife carried a 15-second penalty.

    The winning couple with the fastest time received an expenses paid trip to represent Ireland at the world championships in Finland next July.

    Yay us :D Im really sorry dave i feel a bit braindead after exams , but you're goin into fourth year arent you? I wasnt sure if it was 3rd or 4th, i have a feelin its 4th but..... OH MY GOD, im completely rambling :L :L :L Exhaustion. Actually today this random person left me a comment on myspace and i sent him a reply that i was meant to send to my sister telling her i loved her and that the summer was gonna be crazy etc.......... sooooo embarrassing! I swear im a pure fairy this week :L
    Yup, goin to limerick for the weekend with a few friends, then goin on road trip to donegal with mairead and karen from our class for a few days. Not booking anywhere to stay, just gonna see what happens :)

    Hey! ummm.. not finished til thursday.. but halfway there :) Just 2 more exams and its all over, oh my god dave studied all day yest and drank so much red bull i cudnt sleep last night.
    ended up watchin gothika on tv3 til half 2 and cudnt help but laugh when i woke up three and a half hours later to get ready for exam at 9. Seriously, it would only happen to me :L :L :L :L :L
