I have been writing since high school and its become like a mother-tongue- the language of my spirit that allows me to simply be without the expectations of the world on my shoulders or the boundaries of social structure. Poetry frees me of the confines of conformity and the niceties of civilized society so its empowering that way.

These are a selection of poetry written across the years ranging from 2000 - to date. This book is collection of musing mostly comprised of published poems.

IMP NOTE: SORRY PEOPLE! I'm not from NZ, Fiji is actually not on the country list for authors to chose from so I picked the closest to home.

    This is the first day of my life
    Swear I was born right in the doorway
    I went out in the rain, suddenly everything changed
    They're spreading blankets on the beach

    I think I was blind before I met you

    With these things there's no telling
    We'll just have to wait and see
    But I'd rather be working for a paycheck
    Than waiting to win the lottery

    Besides, maybe this time it's different
    I mean I really think you like me

  • DAY 1: 1,00 a.m. 24/5/07 FINDING MY SPACE TO RECHARGE

    Today I came to a wonderful realization, no it wasn't 'The Secret'-- watched that video weeks ago and yes it did change my life.. but no, today i discovered my place and it came as no surprise really. The sea. I think I was more surprised at the fact that it hadn't dawned on me before. No matter what mood I am in, even a short visit to the sea and I am calm. Her smell, her sound, the sky touching water, the wind on my face, the lights dancing over waves.. all of it.. it just covers me and suddenly I am inspired to write. I don't know if it is common to pacific islanders but i certainly connect with mother sea as much as I do with mother moon and that is a wonderful wonderful realization.
