After the winter series... which really ended as a test seris... all the attention is now focused on the start of the new race season.
The past few months have seen a lot of new faces joining the club with no less than 8 new members joining.
The buggy class has grown from the 'original 3' to 8 with more members set to join this class in the near future. The saloon class has also attracted new members and the bikes will continue to grow once everything is finalised for this class.
Class to watch this year has got to be the buggies with all competitors running evenly matched cars, the racing is going to fast, clean and most importantly fun! John Campbells switch to the buggies has proved a success with him getting to grips with his new car very quickly and impressing with his lap times throughout the winter. The new 'young guns' have also impressed and look set to challenge the 'established racers' of the club from the word 'GO'!
The saloons are still set to be the main class with drivers setting out to claim both the Super National Titles. Last years champions, Mike (SN) and Tim (N), once again look set to be the main men to beat along with Robert Charters and David Adair.
The bike class is really just a bit of fun and as yet there is no championship set out for them.

The 2007 Season has just ended. Thank you to everyone that competed throughout the year. The racing was always close and competitive.
The championship saw 4 different A-Final winners, Micheal Sloan (7), Robert Charters (2), Tim Ryans (2) and Stephen Smyth (1). Mike was king of qualifing by claiming 8 pole positions and Robert taking 4.
The Super National title was really a 2 horse race for most of the season between Micheal Sloan and Robert Charters, with Micheal Sloan coming out on top. The National title went down to the wire, with 4 drivers still able to win the title with 2 races left. By the final round there were only 2 drivers left in the running, Tim Ryans and Tom Patterson. Tim evently claimed the top spot by taking victory in the final 2 races of the year.
Final points standings are as follows -
1st Micheal Sloan (SN) 904 points
2nd Robert Charters (SN) 888 points
3rd Tim Ryans (N) 876 points
4th David Adair (SN) 875 points
*5th Tom Patterson (N) 869 points
*6th John Campbell (SN) 869 points
7th Philip Cairns (N) 843 points
8th Stephen Smyth (N) 769 points
9th David Porter (N) 667 points
10th Jim Strain (SN) 380 points
11th Derek Stewart (N) 285 points
12th Marcus May (N) 192 points
* Tom beats John based upon count back of best results.

LADS I GOT MY 1/5TH BUT CHRIST IS IT HARD TO CONTROL!! THERE'S A BIG DIFFERENCE BETWEEN 1/5 REAR WHEEL DRIVE AND FOUR WHEEL DRIVE OFF ROAD! ANYWAY, THE CAR I GOT IS A TECHNOKIT, FAIRLY BASIC BUT IT DOES HAVE UPGRADED CABLE BRAKES ON THE FRONT (THAT DONT WORK PROPERLY) AND SOME PRETTY NICE HITECH SERVOS. DOES ANYONE KNOW WHERE TO GET PARTS FOR THIS? MY FRIEND DROVE HIS CEN MONSTER TRUCK INTO THE LEFT REAR WHEEL AND DEMOLISHED THE HUB AND ALL THE TIE RODS. YOUR HELP IN THIS WOULD BE HUGELY APPERCIATED.
ALSO I WOULD LOVE T OCOME UP AND HAVE A LOOK AT THE TRACK MAYBE NEXT SUNDAY IF THERE IS ANYTHIHG ON?
Hope to see you all at the 1st race next weekend. I will be there after work suffering an awful hangover...lol!
