The Professionals Team <TheProfessionalsTeam>

This is a page setup for Friends and Sponsors to know more about our Student Brakeaway Rally Team.

The team comprises of Jamie McInnes and Neil Watt, life long friends who both study at universities within Glasgow. Both really love cars and are well into driving and motorsports.

Basically for this rally we have bought a Ford Capri and want to have advertising and logos all over the car for a bit of money towards our excurtion in August. The Student Brakeaway rally has a lot of media coverage. We are also accepting donations which go straight to charity from individuals, and as an incentive, anyone who donates £5 or more has the opportunity to have their name on the car!!!

So please if you have spare money or are interested in Sponsoring us please get in touch and help us help the Teenage Cancer Trust!

You can email theprofessionalsteam@hotmail.

So far managed to get a few companies from Doune and 'Go fast' Energy Drinks. • Teenage Cancer Trust

Come on guys! There's a lot of people who now know of this rally and with it being a month away now we really need to try and get some donations for the TCT. Even a pound will make a difference - if everybody we know donated a pound that would be a couple of hundred pounds, so please if you can, donate to the TCT. Donatons can be made via Paypal (paid to "theprofessionalsteam@hotmail.co.u
     k") Thanks.

We're raising money for a UK charity, Teenage Cancer Trust (TCT) – a charity devoted to improving the lives of teenagers and young adults with cancer. Every day in the UK, 6 teenagers are diagnosed with cancer – that’s over 2200 new diagnoses every year – and the numbers are rising by an average 1.2% every year. If you are a teenager and unlucky enough to be diagnosed with cancer, chances are that you will be treated either on a ward with young children or with the elderly. TCT was established in the 1990s to meet the needs of this largely neglected group of patients could be met and so began its mission to build dedicated units specifically designed for teenagers with cancer.
TCT units in NHS hospitals are dedicated areas for teenage patients, designed to provide an environment that is conductive to recovery. While medical facilities on the units are second-to-none, the units are also funky and vibrant – equipped with computers, TVs, music equipment, game consoles and facilities for parents to stay close by overnight. They are places where both friends and family can feel comfortable and relaxed and patients can enjoy the fellowship and support of people their own age.
To date, TCT has built seven units – in London, Leeds, Liverpool, Birmingham, Sheffield, Newcastle and Manchester. Units cost an average £2 million each to build and TCT wants to see at least 22 units in the UK so that every teenager with cancer in Britain has access to these unique facilities.
TCT doesn’t just build units – the charity provides a UK-wide education and awareness team that reaches out to thousands of pupils across the UK, funds an annual conference for 500 cancer-affected teenagers, a Multidisciplinary Forum and an International Conference for medical professionals, a scheme to support patients and families on leaving hospital and has appointed the world’s very first Professor of Adolescent Cancer Medicine.

  • Sponsorship Drive Starting Soon!

    Hi All,

Up until now our efforts towards getting donations and sponsorship haven't really been upto much with other commitments such as uni and work happening, so in a couple of weeks, we'll be organising different fundraisers to try and raise funds for the trip and for the Teenage Cancer Trust.

The first event will be the Doune Gala on the Saturday the 23rd of June, at which we will have a stand where you can chat with the team and see the team car. There will also be a Car Boot Stall there with various items items for sale from car parts to posters, model cars to clothing.

Details of the location/times etc are available on request and accomodation may be available to anyone who wants to come along! It'll be a laugh regardless of how well we do!

Maps are available in the Doune Gala Photo Album too.

Any questions email Jamie (thecapriowner@hotmail.co.uk) or leave a comment on Jamie's Page (thecapriowner.bebo.com)

Further events will be announced on this page so watch this space!

    Cheers!
    The Professionals Team
