Hi, My name is Austin.
I have been an author here for about a year or so and regularly update this page and when its full of 25 poems I just take down a good few and continue updating.

So far its only actually filled up twice and I think my writing is getting a bit better than what it used to be so I tend to leave more room for newer ones but if you comment than you really like one I will usually leave than one up for a good while.

Anyway I love writing and it was either voice my opinions on paper or write them here or murder so I went I decided "hey why not all three?"
If you like one or anything like that be sure to become a fan so you can see when a new one goes up and also it would be great if you left a comment and told me what you think.

    I am out here studying stones
    Trying to learn to be less alive
    Using all of my will
    To keep very still
    Still even on the inside
    I've cut all of the pertinent wires
    So my eyes can't make that connection
    I am holding my breath
    I am feigning my death
    When I'm looking in your direction

    'Course numb is an old hat
    Old as my oldest memories
    See that one's my mother
    And that one's my father
    And that one in the hat, that's me
    It's a skill I'd hoped to abandon
    When I got out on the open road
    But any more pent up emotion
    And I think I'm gonna explode

    There's never been an endeavor so strange
    As trying to slow the blood in my veins
    To keep my face blank
    As a stone that just sank
    Until not a ripple remains
    I am high above the tree line
    Sitting cross legged on the ground
    When all of the forbidden fruit has fallen and rotted
    That's when I'm gonna come down

    I kissed the kids at noon
    then stumbled out the room
    I caught a cab
    ran up a tab
    on 7th and flower

    best recital I had to ruin
    missed my son's graduation
    punched the Nickles boy
    for taking his seat
    gets all that anger from me

    still things could be much worse
    natural disasters on the evening news
    still things could be much worse
    we still got our health
    my paycheck in the mail

    I promised to my wife and children
    I'd never touch another drink
    as long as I live
    but even then
    it sounds so soothing
    this will blow over in time
    this will all blow over in time

    I'm just an honest man
    provide for me and mine
    I give a check to tax deductable
    charity organizations
    two weks paid vacation won't heal the damage done
    I need another one

    still things could be much worse

    My Mortality hhmmmm..
    I guess you (not the indiviual, in ppl in gen) become bored of that too, from my point of view circles is the only way to go, not that you have a choice, I found I even got bored of accepting my own mortality, so I went back to the ignorant begining, Forget all you know and learn it again. brand new!
    I think Im lucky enough to have bn to the brink to know you can come back, sometimes thats what can hold you here and maybe sadly thats what brought my to my ignorance renaissance.
    Peace of mind floats my boat, bit of an empty vessel now so ignore my noise.

    dude it only lets me review once lame! that new poem should gets 5 stars though!!! amazing! maybe your best one yet! I have noticed you refer to water and the ocean alot in the poems to do with love and whatnot. It's great. In my interpretation of those poems as a whole it would seem like you feel like your lost in the vast expanse, lonley, maybe even drowning in a sea. It could be a sea of emotion where not even you may not know lies in the dark. Thats just my interpretation though and that's why your now one of my favorite poets.

    dissapointment is a good one my fav one is river of my mind i think its clever the way u wrote that ppl folllow tradition bu it ends up bad yet everyone does it wen its not supposed to b dun its true bu makes mur sense wen u read it...at the bottom of a bottle is really good pretty sad i thought.....do u av ur stuff up on ultimate guitar by any chance????
