The Horrors Official <TheHorrors>

official band profile

The most exciting band to emerge in 2006, The Horrors have crashed out of Southend with a thrilling and amphetamine-wired take on '60s R&B and garage rock. Their continued assault in 2007 sees them release their highly anticipated debut album ‘Strange House’.
Available on CD, Limited CD/DVD and Limited Gatefold LP, ‘Strange House’ sees the band - Faris Rotter (vocals), Coffin Joe (drums), Spider Webb (organ), Tomethy Furse (bass) and Joshua Von Grimm (guitar) - put their post-punk aesthetic into overdrive, referencing everyone from The Birthday Party through to The Cramps, and managing to sound like no-one else around at the moment.
Including the limited, non-chart eligible singles ‘Sheena Is A Parasite’, ‘Death At The Chapel’, ‘Count In Fives’ and new single ‘Gloves’, the album is described by Vice as "12 songs of snarling, violent, anarchic, garage pop that makes 90 percent of the new bands in the world suddenly irrelevant."

  • HAPPY NEW YEAR HORRORISTS!

Having brought in the New Year with panache (Panache is a French word for which there is no English equivalent, but carries the connotation of a flamboyant manner and reckless courage, so there.) and gusto, us Horrors are working hard on ways to twist and turn our sound around to even further dizzying heights, Josh has been locked in his cupboard for three days now and it doesn't look like he's coming out anytime soon..

This might be privileged information, but just before the New Year we spent a week in the studio with Chris Cunningham and cut a couple of new tracks, they sound fantastic and we're very much looking forward to the reactions from both our fans and others. Hats off to Chris.

The new album is on it's way, for those of you who were lucky enough to catch us live before the New Year, you have had a small taster of things to come, and things are looking up better than ever.
