Hi guys and welcome to the Ark's very own square foot of cyberspace!

We're an alcohol-free nightclub situated slap-bang on the beautiful coastline of Ayr in the south-west of Scotland. Our aim is to provide a place where you can come and dance or rock out with your friends, and never mind whether you're a guy or a girl, where you come from, what you look like or whether or not you can do backflips with your nose still touching your toes.

The Ark is staffed by a team of super-friendly and utterly hilarious volunteers. We are your uniformed friends with name-tags.

So, come along to the events! Friday nights are just for all you dance and R'n'B fans with our squad of awesome DJs, 7:30pm til 10pm for S1-S3.

Saturday nights are reserved for those about to rock: we offer a weekly selection of local bands designed to rock your very own cotton footwear. We salute you every Saturday, 7:30pm til 11pm for S3+.

    Hiya all!

    Just thought I'd write a wee update on The Ark!

    Ok- so we're just back from Frenzy 09! It was immense! The bands! The atmosphere! The...EVERYTHING!!!
    The Ark had a stall and managed (hopefully) to get a lot of publicity and have a lot of fun with drunk glasses/guitar hero etc etc!!
    4 guys on our team were also invited to work on the main stage this year and represented us amazingly! =) so a huge thanks & well done to James, Alex, Andrew & John!

    ok- NEW 1st years!?! You're now all welcome to come along on Friday nights! woop woop! You may have seen a few of our guys coming into your school to do a little presentation but if not- DON'T WORRY! you're still very much invited and we'd LOVE to see you!!!!!!!!!!!! There's live dj's/disco's/karaoke nights. and usually some great games, wii, guitar hero, competitions, prizes etc etc! £3 entry (or £2.50 with a young scot card) !!! looking forward to seeing you!

    new 3rd years? The time has FINALLY come when we can invite you guys along on Saturdays! Live bands, metal/acousitc nights, the most comfy (i don't know if ''comfiest'' is a word :P ) sofas EVER, a pool/air hockey table and a 20ft alcohol-free bar! (which, is absolutely amazing value for money ;) ) yay-ness!!!

    And our blog wouldn't be complete without mentioning our FREE drop-in which is on Wednesdays 3.30-6.30. FREE internet access, guitar hero, wii, games, etc etc! It's always a good laugh and cool place to chill so give it a try!

    BLUETREE are a band from ireland who're coming on Sunday 14th June. this is a FREE GIG!!!! can you ASK for much more!!!!! 7pm start! We're SO excited about it so it'd be cool to see you!

  • Youth Advisory Committee (YAC)

    We are here for you.

    There's no two ways about it. The Ark is here to "serve the youth of Ayrshire" and we care about what you think. So, we're setting up a Youth Advisory Committee (YAC) and inviting you guys to come along.

    YAC will give you the opportunity to come and chat to us about what you would like to see in The Ark - whether it's ideas for events, equipment, activities or whatever - we really want to know what you are thinking.

    If you're interested, please send us a wee private mail message with your name, email address and which year you're in.

    It will be more fun than it maybe sounds! We might even provide choccy biscuits :D

    you might have heard that we are having a fundraiser called Newtons Got Talent on the 8th August at 7:30pm.Auditions are the 19th July and start at 2:30pm.If you can sing, dance, do magic tricks,act ,are in a band or have any other talents come along to Room 60.Tickets will be on sale for £2 adults and children.Hope to see you there.

    hey Alex, can you confirm if we need to bring a drum kit on 13th? we will bring our own amps but if you guys have a spare marshall that d be great as Frasers amp is collossal!!!! Lol.can you also confirm if we are doing the acoustic thing too??? spoke to the guys and its cool for 2 acoustics, bass and vocals, no drums if thats what you guys want?
