A Céilí band must consist of a piano player or drum or both. Other acceptable instruments are: flute, tin whistle, fiddle, viola, cello, double bass, all accordions/melodeons, uileann pipes, harmonica, bass, snare and cymbal drums, concertina, banjo, piano, saxophone, clarinet, oboe and trumpet. Our own Eoin and Brian will be competing in part with the Ballincollig Comhaltas Branch while Carrigaline’s Michael Heffernan will go head to head, against the duo, joining Douglas Comhaltas......the day or reckoning is May 10th. Watch this space.
