- Critics are already touting Sanzkrit’s debut record “After the Wedding” as one of the Irish albums of the year, even though it won’t be released to the public until after the Summer festivals. The band’s 2007 limited edition “yeah but what if” EP has become somewhat of a collectors item amongst underground scensters and online bloggers have been quick to pick up on the buzz surrounding Sanzkrit too. With big players like Today FM and The Irish Times heralding Sanzkrit on their band of the year lists and an explosive set at Electric Picnic 2008 still fresh in the memory. It’s been a steady rise to the top for these Carrickmacross indie-pop gloomsters. There seems to be a genuine excitement that Sanzkrit are not just another “next big thing” band, but something far more special. Can Sanzkrit meet the hype? They may just even exceed it. Lead single Talk of the Town starts converting any doubters.

Sanzkrit Spirit Store Xmas party/end of year bash/gig thingy Dec 30th
Hey Everyone
We’d quite like it, if you and yours could join us for some hard-core festive partying on December 30th when we (Sanzkrit) perform our final show of 2008
http://www.spiritstore.ie/tickets.html
You’ll also be treated to some very fine musical furors from Drogheda band The Candides with their wonderful folky pop-rock gems and Dundalk’s excellent Blind Pilots, whose new EP ticks all the right boxes.

2008 has been quite good to us Sanzkrit guys and we can think of no finer way to finish off the year than with a cosy headliner in our favourite venue.
In the last twelve months, we’ve played Fifty odd gigs, we got to play Electric Picnic, We recorded our debut album (it’s almost finished, I swear) we’ve been offered Europe-wide distribution for the album, we got selected for the Busta compilation in Italy, we signed a marketing & PR deal with chicago’s finest and we finally acquired ourselves a manager. So we have a lot to celebrate on December 30th.... and I guess we owe everyone a big thank you for supporting us all year… we couldn’t do it without you. We’re looking forward to seeing you all on the 30th
