Thats right all you haters, I am officially a free woman!! I am a full time student and Mom starting NOW! I know, I know, its not fair, too true! I laughed until I cried when I read Grace's blog entry about Riki Tiki Tavi...that is a great story! The thought of a mongoose is funny by itself, but the thought of a mongoose named Riki Tiki Tavi is even funnier. Grace, remember rik, tik, rik, tik, riktiktiktiktiktit
k!! Don't try to understand if you are reading this and don't get it...its just something REALLY silly Grace, P.J. and I laughed about in school! Oh well, enough silliness for today! I am off to do Christmas shopping!

Hey ladies and gents-
OK, so you are wondering...salty language, what's up with that? Well, I was recently sent an e-mail that had the title "Bitchology." This e-mail went on to describe a phenomenon that is all too common: calling people terrible names because you don't agree with them or because you don't like them , or simply because you just think you can. The following is an excerpt from the e-mail, which I think holds a nugget of truth. And that nugget is this: Don't allow someone to control your behavior simply to avoid being labeled. Be true to yourself and your beliefs and if you get called a silly name then SO BE IT! For all the guys out there, the word bitch will no longer offend me, I will embrace it. Lets get rid of the double standard out there that labels men "strong" for standing up for their beliefs and women "bitchy" for standing up for theirs.
BITCHOLOGY
When I stand up for
myself and my beliefs,
they call me a
bitch.
When I stand up for
those I love,
they call me a
bitch.
When I speak my mind, think my own thoughts
or do things my own way, they call me a
bitch.
Being a bitch
means I won't
compromise what's
in my heart.
It means I live my life
MY way.
It means I won't allow anyone to step on me.
When I refuse to
tolerate injustice and
speak against it, I am
defined as a
bitch.
The same thing happens when I take time for
myself instead of being everyone's maid, or when I act a little selfish.
It means I have the courage and strength to allow myself to be who I truly am and won't become anyone else's idea of what they think I "should" be.
I am outspoken,
opinionated and determined. I want what I want and there is nothing wrong with that!
So try to stomp on me,
try to douse my inner flame, try to squash every ounce of beauty I hold within me.
You won't succeed.
And if that makes me a bitch ,
so be it.
I embrace the title and
am proud to bear it.

Dear friends and family-
I am writing this blog to tell you all how much I love you. Even if I told you everyday, it would not be enough. I have recently reconnected to an old friend who I knew all the way back to high school. We found that we both had changed and that life had taken its toll on both of us, but that deep down we were both the same sweet people inside. There is something revealing about reconnecting to people from your past. They have special insight to quirks and inconsistecies that you might not want to acknowledge. They have a belief in you that maybe others don't, and they have memories that, while sometimes bittersweet, can link people together through years of separation. I am grateful to this friend from my past for allowing the reemergence of this relationship. While the image may be cliche, it holds true. We were both caterpillars, spent time apart in our cocoons, and now we can come out, fully formed, and ready to fly. I am making a request that each person who gets this message understand how important their friendship means to me. Thank you for recognizing who I am and still loving me. Thank you for forgiving, overlooking, and understanding.
A little sentimental today-
Robin
Hope it is a great one.
