August 27, 2009

Boost Mobile SnoSho uses social media platform to increase engagement with audience

Bebo today announced a new, unique sponsorship with Boost Mobile SnoSho, Australia's premier snowboarding event, held at Perisher, 28/29 August. Boost Mobile SnoSho will harness the power of Bebo's social media platform to increase audience engagement through a custom 'channel' Bebo has made available to the brand.

"This is a great event for us to be bringing to the Bebo audience," commented Bebo's Head of APAC Marketing, Hannah Rook. "With the custom channel for Boost Mobile, Bebo users will be given the opportunity to create content via photo uploads or drawing boards, vote for their favourite snowboarder and connect with snowboarding enthusiasts Australia wide."

Bebo users will have the chance to win great prizes provided by event sponsors such as LG, Burton and Oakley.

"We're very pleased to have Bebo come on board as a partner for the Boost Mobile SnoSho," said Boost Mobile GM Marketing, James Currah."We recognise the value of the platform in enabling our audience to further engage with us and also to build a sense of community around SnoSho."

The action kicks off on Friday 28 August, with a Wild Card event offering two lucky, and talented, board riders the chance to line up with 23 of the world's best snowboarders in Saturday night's premiere competition. Bebo users will be able to follow all the action at www.bebo.com/boostsnosho <http://www.bebo.com/boostsnosho>.

Boost Mobile SnoSho culminates in a 'gameshow' style competition on Saturday night, with the six highest scoring riders competing for a winner-takes-all $15,000.

The event is presented and sponsored by LG, with other sponsors including Oakley, Burton, Perisher, Allphones, Corona, Habbo, Hot Hits and Swatch TTR World Snowboard Tour.
