Gathering of Nations Powwow 2005 (35 foto)
Gathering of Nations Pow wow - April 28-30, 2005 North America's "Biggest" Pow-wow Thursday was the Miss Indian World Pageant Friday & Saturday was the POW-WOW, which included the Indian Traders Market and Pow-wow alley that had a LOT of food. There is more information on the Gathering of Nations website: www.gatheringofnations.com And, there is also a radio station there! The music is awesome and a great variety. Have fun!

Anchorage Trip-October 2005 (49 foto)
We traveled to Anchorage to attend and take part in the Lepquinm Gumilgit Gagoadim "Our Own Dance in Our Hearts" coming out Potlatch, which was a success. Mohamed also had to get his Permanent Residency Card renewed, in person, in Anchorage because of the new homeland security regulations. We can no longer have it done at the Ketchikan office. Cuz Eleanor brought us to the Heritage Center to watch the musicians and Dodi brought us to Seward to meet her family. On the way to Seward we stopped off at a refuge center and saw many animals. Great trip!

MOVING - FIT 'N' FREE (48 foto)
November is Diabetes Prevention Month, so we joined the JUST MOVE IT! program to get on million Native People moving. Here are some photos of families involved in the month's activities. We are having a blast! Thanks so Kristi Clement and Valerie Howell for putting together the games for Tues-Wednesdays. Monday & Fridays - walking and Tae Bo. This ends on November 30th, with a big celebration with a swim on Dec 3rd for all participants who will also get certificates of participation. Great job EVERYONE! Family times were fantastic to see.

Alfie, Kristin and Katy were visiting during the August 7th celebration week. It was wonderful having them, even for a few days. It was so difficult to see them leave again. But, I look forward to future visits.

April 2006 CHEMOTHERAPY results (29 foto)
Who would ever guess that I'd be struck with cancer a 2nd time, 12 years later!? What a shocking, disappointing surpise for me. But, I am doing good. I am ready for the next round of chemotherapy. Here are some photos taken - my hubby didn't want to cut it all off, so I compromised as usual, and allowed him to at least cut it short. So, now we must vacuum everywhere and shake stuff off cause of all the hair that I leave behind when I sit or lay anywhere. Hee hee

Mohamed becomes naturalized: a USA citizen! (7 foto)
February 22nd, 2008, Mohamed became a citizen of the United States. Lots of hard work and studying paid off well and didn't take so long after all. Whew! What a nice relief - now he can apply for his voter's regisgration, get a USA passport, and take his Ak. Driver's test. Whooppeeeeeeeeeeee!

It was so much fun spending Christmas with my son, Alfie & his family. His wife Kristin, his daughter Katy and his son Joel. We had a wonderful and happy Christmas together in Juneau. And in January more surprises arise... LOL Who would ever guess that Richard Twiss would come to Metlakatla! :) What a blessing!

Mom's 80th Birthday and Alfie & Kristin's 10th Ann (13 foto)
November marked Mom's(Loretta Baines) 80th Birthday and Alfie & Kristin's 10th Anniversary. So, we celebrated with a celebration dinner at the CE Hall in the Presbyterian Church. Family traveled from Juneau, Anchorage, Seattle, and Ketchikan to celebrate with us. It was so much fun and everyone was so happy. Many thanks to all who helped planned the special event.

One Month 20 Days later - in Juneau (17 foto)
We went to Juneau for a short visit and will go back again in August for another short visit before I must go back to work. Here are pictures of Joel and his family a month and 20 days after his birth. It was so good to see them again. All is well and everyone is healthy and happy.

Joel Wilfred Price Born on June 3, 2007 @ 2:19 p.m. @ Bartlett Hospital in Juneau, Alaska. He was 8 lbs. 4 oz and 20 3/4 inches. He experiences serious problems at birth, and he is a fighter! What a champ huh? That's my grandson!

Disneyland Trip-Dec 2006 (48 foto)
What a blast! My husband Mohamed, My son Alfie, Alfie's wife Kristin, and their daugher Katy, and I traveled to disneyland the day after Christmas. We were blessed with good weather, so we were able to travel out.

Alfie, Kristin and Katy joined us for Christmas again this year. By the way, they are expecting their 2nd child on June 2nd, 2007. And, today 1/5/07, they called to give me the news that it will be a boy!
