OK, so by Soho we mean Banani, and by cocktail party we mean drinking vodka and sprite, but goddamnit we did it in style! Check out the clothes. And it was all in honour of our ageing friend Siobhan - Happy Birthday!

22 hours in Kankandi (15 foto)
at the crack of dawn on a friday, we left banani for gulistan, where we caught a bus, transferred to a speedboat and then a cng-van, and once we arrived in kankandi, syed's village, it was all worth it.. walking in nature, chilling on the terrace, chatting on the porch, reading, drinking vodka and coconut juice (ok, not a great combo i admit), eating fabulous veggie bengali food, playing with the local kids - all in just 22 hours. some of us were extra busy and even mangaged to do some work (vic) and crash a rickshaw van (siobhan), but that's a another story..

my very first intercultural xmas was spent in banani, dhaka, and began with a gang of us (swedish, irish, dutch and bangladeshi) celebrating christmas eve (as swedes do) with a fabulous dinner in sofia and michel's, which carried on into the wee hours on account of several bottles of booze, a good few guitars and excellent company. the 25th saw a select few of us (ok, those of us who were still sad enough to be in town) scoff a yummy xmas brunch in siobhan's before we opened our stockings and collapsed on the couch with a tub of mulled wine between us. wbile it was not white, cold or for that matter, very xmassy, it was still a great xmas! :D

Thursday night saw a certain NAM flat fill up with our very lovely friends (and a bunch of randomers), who proceeded to drink all our booze and trash our flat, and all the while beautiful 80s music played from my iPod (before it crashed onto the floor that is). And all this in honour of Niki, the bestest flatmate whos is taking off next week (but we think we've persuaded her to come back). Great night - here's to the next one!

New Year holliers in Thailand (39 foto)
Bangkok - birthday celebrations, shopping, chilling, coffee shop frequenting and generally soaking up the greatness of this city - I love BKK! Ko Tao - did five days of diving and chilling in great company of divers of various levels.. Ko Samui - crap place altogether, but a of a hub for these islands. And the airport IS pretty cool. Haad Tien, Ko Pha Ngan - very chilled little secluded beach, which attracts some great and unique characters from all over the world. Teamed up with two couples from LA (June & Brad and Monk & Tawny) and had a for one of the best days of 2006, which included trekking, acrobatics, swimming, yoga, irish dancing, thai whiskey and lots of other random activities.
