PBL Premiership (45 photos)
After a long summative examination period, the 2nd year PBL students (Faculty of Medicine) decided to release their built-up tension by validating their manhood in challenging the 1st PBL students to a game of football on Thursday 30th June 2005. Surprisingly, instead of being thrashed...the 2nd years, for the first time, did some thrashing by humbling the 1st years 3-1. Well done boys :-)

Just before the exam period, the Makerere University Muslim Students Association held their Annual Finalist Dua in early May 2008. Alhamdulilah, it was a much needed spiritual event that prepared us for our FINAL FINAL exams. Also, the pilou and chicken were an added bonus!

After 2 weeks of a stressful exam period, on Saturday 31st May 2008 we all went to Kabira Country Club in Bokoto, Kampala to unwind at the Annual Medical School Dinner. Although the dinner was held on a football pitch, in the cold, where we had to share plates of food (unbelievable!)...we still managed to have fun and seal off our 5 years with wonderful...and hilarious memories!

Celebrating Islam Convention 2007 (27 photos)
The Celebrating Islam Kampala Convention aims to empower the Muslim youth of Uganda through knowledge sharing by reviving the Islamic tradition of education, tolerance and introspection, and across cultural lines through points of commonality and respect. The convention intends to introduce Islam to non-Muslims in its purest form as a comprehensive system and a way of life. In so doing, the convention will try to establish a relationship of dialogue, understanding and coordination between Muslims and non-Muslims.

Ramadhan is the most blessed month in the Islamic Calendar. It is primarily a spiritual training course intended to help us cultivate essential virtues and skills in order to lead a meaningful life. Most often we live at a very superficial level of our existence, forgetting our true essence and identity as human beings. In other words, we become totally preoccupied with the physical and material dimensions, forgetting the spiritual core of our personalities. Ramadhan, therefore, comes to remind us of who we truly are, and how we can discipline ourselves in such a way that we are fully awake to our full spiritual potential. (Sheikh Ahmad Kutty)
