Gender & Micro Finance National Workshop (45 foto's)
A study on the impact of gender mainstreaming in micro finance funded by IFAD was undertaken by SPD. In January 2007 a 2 day national workshop organized by SPD brought all major stakeholders together under one roof to share the findings of the impact study as well as to review and explore new strategies aimed at mainstreaming gender in micro finance as a powerful tool for womens empowerment with regard to poverty alleviation. Dr Jagdish Chandra Pokharel, Vice Chairperson of the National Planning Commission & 2 senior colleagues, high level goverment dignitaries, international donor representatives, pioneers, NGO's, commerical banks, micro finance institutions, finance & gender specialists participated in the two day workshop to come up with a strategy drawing on a highly participatory approach. GP's Review Workshop I (9 foto's)
These are images of the group promoters review workshop in which their progress for the period 1st January 2005 to 31st July 2005 was reviewed. Experiences and problems were shared in this forum and challenges identified. The workshop was held the training hall of the Nepal Administrative Staff College and inaugurated by Mr Govinda Prasad Kafley, Coordinator, Leasehold Forestry & Livestock Development Project.

Conflict Training Workshop (12 foto's)
A training on Conflict Transformation Training adopting Mary B Andersons widely acclaimend Do No Harm Theory was given to the group promoters employed by the Society for Partners in Development under the bridging phase of the Leasehold Forestry and Livestock Development Project. The training was given by Mr Ramesh Shrestha a trainer from GTZ . This album contains images of the training workshop in whcih despite their educational handicap Group Promoters (grass root women social moibilizers) enthusiastically participated and struggled hard to learn about this new philosophy of how to work in a conflict situation using the DNH theory in practice. The training workshop was funded by IFAD.
