A meteoric rise from the 4am slot through mid-morning and drive time saw him arrive in the Radio 1 hot seat in 2004. | As a member of one of Britain's biggest ever bands Gary Barlow's place among the music elite is secure. Take into account his unprecedented success as a singer songwriter too and you have a member of the recording royal family on your hands. That kind of stadium filling success was a million miles away from his early days in the mid 80s North West playing the Connah’s Quay Labour Party Social Club and the Frodsham Union Church Coffee Morning! But an audition in 1990 at a Manchester club catapulted Gary into the big time and the Take That phenomenon was born. Married to Dawn, Gary has three children, Dan, Emily and most recently of all Daisy - born on 14th January this year - just in time to see her Daddy take on Kilimanjaro! | ||

| Singer, songwriter, model, TV star, dancer and now mountaineer – is there nothing this woman cannot do! After hitting the big time with Mis-Teeq, Alesha Dixon was crowned Strictly Come Dancing champion in 2007 and her single The Boy Does Nothing peaked at number 5 and spent over three months in the UK Top 20 the following year. But it all could have been very different. Alesha was all set to take up a place at Loughborough University when she was approached on a train by a record producer, who asked her if she could sing. On the return journey she was approached again by someone who asked if she was in a band! Alesha decided to put her degree on hold to see if she could make it and the rest is history. | ||

| After finding fame on the legendary Big Breakfast, Denise Van Outen has become one of our most celebrated musical theatre performers. A sound start at the Sylvia Young Theatre School saw Denise show an early flair for performing and she was soon winning parts in various TV dramas as well as acting in A Midsummer Night's Dream with the RSC. In 1995, Van Outen joined The Big Breakfast as a weather and travel reporter, but a couple of years later she started co-presenting the show with Johnny Vaughan. The multi talented Essex lass then launched a fantastically successful career in musicals which saw her make her West End debut in 2001 as Roxie in Chicago – a role she also played on Broadway. After a string of further Theatre hits, Denise appeared back on our TV screens in Any Dream Will Do in 2007. Victor, Lee Mead, not only won the part of Joseph but also Denise’s heart – the pair have been together ever since. | ||
