| The bowl, a common open-top vessel in many cultures, is used to serve food, and is sometimes also used for drinking and storing other items. They are generally small and shallow, although some, such as punch bowls and salad bowls, are larger and are sometimes intended to serve many people at once. Bowls have existed for thousands of years. Modern bowls can be made of ceramic, metal, wood, plastic, and other materials. Their appearance can range from very simple designs of a single color to sophisticated artwork. Many people use bowls to hold ice creams =) | ||

![]() | Ice Cream Cones (11 fotos) | |
| An ice cream cone or cornet is a cone-shaped pastry, usually made of a wafer similar in texture to a waffle, in which ice cream is served, allowing it to be eaten without a bowl or spoon. Original cones were rolled from flat, warm dough as it comes out of the oven and is still pliable. Moulded cones are also made, though they came somewhat later. They are made by filling a mould with dough. The original moulded cones were also pointed, and are still made. The most common moulded cones have flat bottoms; they were first made after WWII. Early molded cones were troublesome as they didn't hold the scooped ice cream well, and tended to break. The addition of moulded radial ribs inside the cone helped with both problems, and are now almost universally used.[citation needed] They increase breaking strength and serve to maintain the verticality of the scooped ice cream. | ||

![]() | Gelato (6 fotos) | |
| Gelato, or the plural Gelati, is Italian ice cream made from milk and sugar, combined with other flavourings. The gelato ingredients (after an optional pasteurization) are super-cooled while stirring to break up ice crystals as they form. Like high end ice cream, gelato generally has less than 35% air - resulting in a dense and extremely flavoursome product. Gelato is the generic Italian for ice cream. The same word is commonly used in English speaking countries to refer to "ice cream" that is prepared in the Italian way. "Gelato" is an Italian word for "frozen" and comes from the Italian word gelare, meaning "to freeze." | ||
