| FINALLY!! Here they are, photos of the new pad in Puxi. It was a long wait, I know, but I had to wait for the sun to come out before I could take the photos. That doesn't happen very often here. | Well, I didn't take any pictures of the apartment itself (it was full of boxes!!) but I did take some pictures of our awesome view. We're on the 25th floor, just accross the street from the river. It's about a 15 minute walk to the hotel where I'll be working. We have bay windows in every bedroom, and a large balcony off the livingroom. You can see the Bund, the Oriental Pearl Tower, and I think one of the largest suspension bridges in the world. Who knew?? | ||

| Ok, so my story is not so interesting, but the photos are. It was really a beautiful little town. I was especially shocked to realize that people actually still lived there... lots of people. I mean how many historic towns in the states have you visited, where you need to buy tickets to enter, but people still live there like nothing has changed in thousands of years?? Talk about people on display. It was a very strange sensation, but a very nice village. So enjoys the pics. | ||

| Today we had a girl's day out in celebration of the fact that all of our men were busy at work. The truely beautiful part of this is that the men were working on the grand reopening of the hotel, an event I have absolutely nothing to do with. So, even though I work with the boys, I got to go out and party with my girlfriends this week while all the boys have been working their tails off. NICE. | ||

| Since Etienne clearly wasn't able to do any diving, he decided to take up the post as official dive photographer. Here are a few shots from the our last attempt. There's a whole video of me trying to dive in and then quickly deciding to get back out of the water. It's horribly humiliating, so I'm sure Etienne will gladly show everyone sometime in the future. | ||

| Ok, I know it looks like we were having fun in these pictures... we probably were. You're not going to get an objective, both-sides-of-the-story view of this trip. I'm sorry, but that's not going to happen. You're going to read about it and think, "Wow, that sucks." Then you'll look at the pictures and think, "Wow, that looks like fun!!" It may seem confusing. | Just to illustrate how spectacular my boyfriend is, I am creating this photo album in homage and to brag. Etienne just came back from a month in France and look at what he brought me!! First of all, there's a story behind these flowers (thanks to Sebastien), which I will tell you if you check out my blog. Then, one of my most prized posessions, magazines!! English magazines are so expensive in China (when you can find them)!! Last but not least, Etienne bought me a beautiful gold necklace (no photo). It's the first piece of jewelry he's ever picked out for me. What a wonderful boy. | ||

| Christmas is a strange time in China. Some people give gifts. They put up decorations, but it's not the same. Somehow the Christmas tree in the mall with the extension cord wrapped around it, didn't strike me as very Christmassy. That's why, when offered, Etienne and I jumped at the chance to spend Christmas Eve night with an actual family. Our friend Anthony had some family in town and invited us over for Christmas Even dinner, bless him. Mind you, there was no turkey there, but lots of good Phillipino food. | ||

| OK so you asked, here it is. These are actually interior shots of the new pad. Only highlights, I didn't take any of our porch/washroom, bathrooms or balcony. You'll notice it's relatively clean. That's because I took them the day we fired our cleaning lady. Yes, that's right, she's gone. The morning after I arrived in Shanghai we let her go. So Etienne had a cleaning lady for 2 weeks and I had none. I had to take pictures to remember the good days when the apartment was clean. With both of us working now, I can assure you that it's not nearly that clean anymore. Actually that's a lie, true his word, Etienne-the-clean-freak actually cleaned this morning. It was a mind-boggling moment for me. We'll see how long that lasts. | ||

| Well, the big day is done, my little sister is officially married. What a weekend!! It really was a lot of fun, stress and sleepless nights. But everything came together beautifully and here are some of the results. I don't have any pictures of the ceremony or reception (HELLO BUSY MAID OF HONOR!!) but I do have a bunch of other stuff.
