	Mr David Martin, After reading your letter regarding a disturbance from seeing a beautiful proud tamariki posed proudly in the Beacon last week. I can not understand the message you got from that? Is it not alright to teach our tamariki to be proud of where they came from. To be proud that their Tupunas land has been returned. Their turanga wai wai that they stand on and spend a great part of their lives in. In fact what I find disturbing is the fact that tamariki were forced by Police to witness the Tuhoe Raids last year and fully traumatised. The tree lord deal is a breath of fresh air compared to that. A child encouraged to display what many would be proud of is fantastic in my eyes, "children of the mist". I think it is sad that you got such a negative message from such positive thing for Tuhoe, no matter who was holding the message. To me the message also says Tuhoe tamariki are proud and overcome the racism and oppression.
