"I was out weeding in the butterfly garden, when I heard a noise. I looked up and there was a yearling fawn looking straight at me !
At first I was so excited, I just stayed kneeling there on all fours
looking straight into its eyes. It didn't seem to mind that I was only a few feet away. I could have reached out and touched it I was that close to it !
When I said "where's your Mother?" the fawn calmly flicked it's tail and walked slowly through the rest of the gardens checking them out. I just stayed there looking at it with awe and amazement. It wasn't the least bit in a hurry to leave. Then it turned, looked at me one last time and walked back into the woods ! I couldn't believe what had just happened !
It was amazing !"
We have seen deer up in the orchard & guessed they were keeping their fawns there for Spring/Early summer before migrating up to Kemble Mountain (animal wildlife reserve)this was 1st time to actually witness a fawn ! " | | | | |
