the film was an adaption of the stage show by andrew lloyd webber aka. *GOD* which, in turn was also an adaption of the book "Le Fantôme de l'Opéra" by Gaston Leroux. everyone had different opinions of each of the versions and this particular fan site is for the movie
plot
the plot centers on a disfigured musical genius, tormented by his scarred face, who lives in the watery labyrinths beneath the Opera Populaire in Paris, terrorizing the opera, and committing several murders. After nearly ten years of quiet obsession with the voice of Christine Daae, a beautiful young soprano, he plots to place her center stage through threatening letters to the management and hopes to win her heart with his efforts to make her a star.

Phantom Of The Opera is one of the best musicals,,
I saw it 8th April.. it was amazing,
Also had a workshop with the actors, got to try on the cloths, masks everything it was gr8 ,

unfortunately not realistic though, as the real Erik is like 50 years old and has the visage of a living corpse
