Brand New Series: E4 is continuing the channel's investment in originated drama series with a slick brand new six part drama series from the makers of Life On Mars . Nearly Famous follows a group of students who've got talent, a taste for tequila and a whole load of angst that make the average teenager's life seem easy. The difference is these guys have earned a place at a top London school for performing arts and they have just one chance to prove they've got what it takes to make it. In this episode, the students learn that it's Patrons' Showcase Week. They all have to audition but it's tough, only one student from each discipline will be picked to perform and show the Patrons where their money's going.

    • 'Nearly Famous' ditched, exec speaks out

      Where Skins succeeded, many others have failed. I got word today that Nearly Famous, E4's six-part teen drama set in a performing arts school, has been officially canned.

      Alison Jackson, executive producer at production firm Kudos, said the team behind the show were disappointed for the show's fanbase.


      How do you feel about Nearly Famous not being recommissioned?

      "Naturally we were all very disappointed. Nearly Famous is a series we are extremely proud of and it developed a very loyal following of fans."

      Had you started developing ideas for series two?

      "We hadn’t committed to anything in particular but felt there was certainly the potential for the series to continue. The writer Holly Phillips, who conceived the series, is extremely talented and we would have thoroughly enjoyed developing new ideas for the drama with her."

      How do you think the characters would have developed?

      "As the students progressed through the College so their talents would have developed - and in the same way relationships would have changed too - almost certainly in some unexpected ways..."

      just watched the ending about 2 minutes ago, wat an ending it allways seems to make me cry everytime i watch it even though i know wat is gunna happen it still makes the flood gates open :( :( that programme was a legendary one, still cant believe its over. bring it backl!!!
