It's not often that the gospel sounds as pure as it does on this album of traditional carols,
although it opens with a very special piece, the deeply intense "Mother of Love". Inspired by
Maurice Gibb, this was the first new Robin Gibb composition to be published since his twin
brother passed away, and is stylistically reminiscent of the days when Robin had his first big
solo hit with "Saved By The Bell“ back in 1969. “My Favourite Christmas Carols” draws the
listener in with some compelling vocal performances, from traditional carols such as “Away in
a Manger” and “Oh Come All Ye Faithful”, to the contemporised "The First Noel" and superb
"Mother of Love", which Robin wrote for all the mothers in the world.
