Bebo Mobile Site: Unless there is a special offer to make the Bebo Mobile Site free to use from your mobile operator, your standard data rate and charges will apply.
Bebo Messaging: We will tell you the cost of receiving a text, sending a text and sending picture mail before you activate messaging.
Bebo Mobile Alliance: Ask the Bebo Mobile Alliance partner providing the service, but in general standard charges apply.
If your mobile operator does not support Bebo Mobile Messaging you can still use the Bebo Mobile Site. Stay tuned and register so we can tell you when messaging is available on your operator...

By default, you will receive alerts for some categories like new profile comments and and all new mail. You can also choose to "follow" your friends to receive an alert whenever they post a new saying.
To change these settings at any time, visit your Mobile Settings. Your main options will include:
- Turn all alerts on/off (if off, overrides any other settings)
- Set the maximum number of alerts you would like to receive in one day
- Profile comments on/off
- Mail on/off
- Friend sayings: choose which friends you want to receive alerts from, if any
You will only receive alerts instantly on your mobile if you don't have Review ALL comments set in your Privacy Settings.
Go to the Mobile Settings page and select Subscribe to my Top 16. You can also type in your friend's nickname and select Subscribe to subscribe to a specific friends' sayings.
If the alert's message fits in one text, simply reply back via text with your own message. You can:
- Reply to a profile comment will post a profile comment back
- Reply to a mail will send a mail
- Reply to friend sayings will post a profile comment back to the friend.
If you reply to a profile comment or friend sayings and prefix your message with the letter l, your profile comment will be posted with luv. For example, l cool! i can send luv with my comments now!
If the alert text message does NOT fit in a single text, you cannot reply back via SMS - you will receive a link to view the message on the mobile site, and you can reply to it there. Standard charges may apply for viewing the Bebo Mobile Site in this case.
From bebo.com on the Web: just sign in to Bebo.com and go to the Mobile section. Here you can control all your alerting preferences including turning off all alerts.
From the phone: You can either reply to any Bebo text/SMS with the word STOP or send STOP via text/SMS to the short code we use on your operator:

The nickname is a short name you can give to your friends, so you don't have to type in their full username on the phone. See the nicknames section below for more details.
Yes. To save time, instead of typing out the full command you can simply enter the first letter of each command.
For example, the command to post a saying is "say".
- the standard way to post a saying is "say this is a mobile saying"
- the shortcut is "s this is a mobile saying"
This works for profile comment ("c"), luv ("l"), mail ("m"), and blog ("b") as well.
Nicknames are a handy way to let you send messages to your Bebo friends via text, without having to type in their full usernames. When you verify your phone number and activate Bebo Mobile for the first time, default nicknames are given to all your friends. You can update these default nicknames at any time from the Edit Nicknames page: Bebo Homepage -> Bebo Mobile -> Mobile Settings -> Edit Nicknames.
Nicknames must be unique, meaning that every single friend of yours must have a different nickname. Nicknames can be from 1-15 characters and cannot contain any spaces or special characters - only lower-case letters (a-z) and numbers (0-9) are allowed. Special characters are fun until you have to type them in on your phone!!
