Everyone knows their job in the system we've been playing now and it makes it easy for new guys to fit in. I think it gets the best out of our best players as well. Competition for places is going to be great from now on. Folk will have to prove themselves.

I was actually thinking during the week what else would we want to try so we are ready for anything and the only thing I could think to do was a 451 if we were playing a stronger team but we have forwards who drop off anyway and I kind of don't see the point. I hate 352. There's no point in 3 up either cos we have wide players who do come in and play as a third striker in the last third anyway.

Maybe just stick to the same system with little variations to deal with problem opponents.

I'd imagine it would be yeah! I'd think they would want to get out and attack plenty. If their lazy tracking back we'll punish them cos I am confident we'll defend from the front.

I might even experiment with the system later if we're well in front.

Aside from the fact they are a new team and I think this is their first ever game I know nothing.

As I see it there's two ways it could go - they could either be really disorganised and unfit or they could have some good players and be unfit.

If they play six up front from the kick off then it could equally cause us problems if we don't get a hold of the ball and their weird indisciplined runs start pulling us all over the place. I've played in games like that against scratch teams like this.

If we get a hold of the ball and dictate play then we should be fine. Although we've not trained we should still have a bit of fitness and we know each others games pretty well now. I'll keep the newer lads for later on in the game and send the old heads out to get the game won by halftime.

I suppose anything dark will do. It's a good problem to have. As far as I know everyone who is considered a part of the squad is going to be there tomorrow - which is fantastic.
