About Me

Me, Myself, and I
Make A Difference UK or MAD is a UK wide initiative to encourage, support, and recognise 13 to 24 year olds who volunteer their time for the benefit of others.

Football Coaching, Urban Art, Music festivals, Mentoring, Media courses and projects, Health and First Aid courses, Residentials.....We run all sorts of projects!

We also support young people who are already volunteering by helping them with their expenses and providing them with certificates for their voluntary work.
We are looking for young people aged 13 to 24 living in MK who are interested in getting involved in voluntary work or may already be volunteering!

  • Frequently Asked Questions...

I've never done anything like this before, don't you need experience?...
Most Volunteers haven't had any experience in voluntary work so join the club! You'll get loads of help and support and gain experience along the way.

I'm not good at anything special, what could I do?...
The idea of volunteering with MaD is to help by taking part in things you're interested in or stuff that means something to you or doing something that helps with a course or qualification you may be doing elsewhere. One volunteer used her interest in football to set up a local club for young children on the estate where she lives. You'll find as you do more volunteering you'll want to try new things and get involved in stuff you wouldn't have before!

I don't think I've got the time. How much time do I have to give?...
There are no time limits. You're volunteering so you fit it in with whatever you already have going on. You set the times when you can volunteer.

I've got no transport and I live isolated in a cave very far from civilisation. How do I get to where I want to volunteer?...
Apart from doing stuff in your own area keeping it local, why not steup a club where you live. We can also provide you with travel expenses to get you to where you need to go.

I've been told that a job is more important then helping out somewhere. Shouldn't I concentrate on that instead?...
Of course getting a job is important. But you may find that having the experience you gained during your volunteering gives you that extra edge on your C.V over the other people applying! It'll definately give you something more to talk about at an interview!

What do I get to show I've volunteered?...
We'll give you a wicked nationally recognised certificate to brighten up your record of achievement.

MaD is going GREEN for the day to help support Team Green Britain. Everyone can contribute, try car sharing or walking to places, swap some old but useful bits and bobs with some friends, go over to a friends to watch your favorite tv soap, switch to low energy light bulbs and there is so much more to generally reduce Britains carbon footprint!
