Hello there,
As you may have sussed already, we are the Youth Team for the Volunteer Centre in Inverclyde.
The Team:
SarahJane McNeil ~ Youth Development Worker.
Erin Donnelly ~ Youth Volunteering Support Worker.
Millennium Volunteers is a National Government funded initiative for young people aged 16 to 25. Its aims are to encourage, support and recognise young people who give up some of their time for the benefit of others and their local communities. Through MV you can make a difference for both yourself and the community.
Millennium Volunteers (MV) offers tailor-made volunteering opportunities for anyone aged 16-25.It doesn't matter whether you are in or out of work, or a student or graduate - you can get involved.
The emphasis is on building your skills and experiences, whilst really making a difference.
So go on, give it a go!!!!

- The Award
- MV is a time based award and in return for your commitment, you will receive a Certificate after 50 and 100 hours of volunteering and an Award of Excellence from the Scottish Government after 200 hours, personally signed by Scotland’s First Minister.
- Roars not Whispers
- Sadly, Roars not Whispers has now come to an end. however through the work done, we have some fantastic feed back and hope to use this to benifit more Young People in the future. Thank you for all your participation.
- Films
- too many to list!! but probably nothing recent, we work too much to have time to watch films!!! lol.
- Music
- Well, being a team you can guess we have quite a wide taste in music. As for myself, i appreciate anything that shows real talent and songwritting skills......oh, and im not against a bit of Girls Aloud!!! Wee bit of 80s will always go down well in the office!!
- Happiest When
- Working with loverly young people of coarse!! Id say that we are all a good laugh and enjoy most things in life, except essays!!!

Erin has left the building!!
Hi eveyone,
Just wanted to let you all know that I am moving on to pastures new.
I want to take this opportunity to thank you all very much for allowing me the opportunity to work with you wonderful youth volunteers over the last two years. I have had so much fun and learnt so much from you all, it has been invaluble.
I only hope that I am as lucky with my next post as I have been with my previous ones here.
Continue to do great things, I know you's will.

Youth Connections Music in the Square
Youth Connections are running a four afternoons course at each of there Centres, times as detailed below. The idea of the course is to give participants a very basic idea of how a Radio Station Playout System works and how you can put together a Website Page and include Audio and a Photo Gallery. The course will give participants the chance to put a little Web page and or Radio production together: from initial planning through to construction, recording and editing before uploading or creating a short programme section.
Participants work will be featured on Inverclyde Media website (www.inverclydemedia.com) and may be used in a proposed RSL on-air Radio Station later in the year.
The courses are free and initially open to members of Youth Connections and have limited places. If you would like to register an interest in taking part, please e-mail willie@youthconnections.co.uk
Dates:
Burns Sq: Tuesday 22nd July - 25th July 1-4 PM
Clyde Sq: Tuesday 29th July - Friday 1st August 1-4 PM
Leven Rd : Tuesday 5th August - Friday 8th 1-4PM
Youth Connections are also presenting there annual Music In The Square 2008 which will start on Saturday 12th July, and will run for 4 weeks on every Saturday from 1pm - 3pm. There will be a wide variety of young performers taking part this year.
