    Epileptic’s Prayer

    Oh Blessed Mother,
    Please be patient.
    Protect me and my brother.
We feel so different from every other…
Give us warmth in the cold,
Give us love in the loneliness.
Give us the strength…to make it through this.

    Dearest Father…
Stay near; Your children need You here.
Draw us close to You; draw us deeper into Your love.
That You rain down on us from above.
Mixing it with the rain that hides the bitter tears that stain.
Healing all the scars that we carry inside,
Even the scars that we try to hide.

    Holy Spirit…
    Give us strength…
    Give us the fire.
To live on through it all,
And let our spirits never tire.
Help us get back up after we fall.
Even if…if…it was for the last time.

    Dear Jesus…
    Please don’t abandon us…
We carry a cross lighter than what you bore.
But into us the weight still tore.
Into our strength, our determination, our will,
    Leaving us bleeding still.
The weight is coming down again.
    The blackness closes in.
    Please, Jesus, please.
Be our light in the dark.
Help us carry this load upon every heart.
    Hear these,
    Our prayers.
Even when our faith…our hope…and our trust waver.

Jesus is ready to forgive your sin. Just open your heart, and welcome Him in. Think of what Jesus was willing to do. I'm sure you will see how much He loves you. Written by Martha Offer. (Sorry it took so many pages to write.)

But God is the one who is always right here With Him close by I know I have nothing to fear His hand is always leading, showing me the way And because of His guidance, I haven't had too much to pay One day I started to cross a wide road Not even halfway across my shoulders slumped with a heavy load God kept my feet walking to reach the side alright I woke up with my back on grass, the sun was shining bright During most seizures I stiffen or fall I let out a yell or bump into a wall Pure luck is what some people say happened that day 'God is simply not real,' is what they do say God is my father, my very best friend He's also the one who helps me to mend When people tell me, "There's no God above," I know they are wrong, for I have felt His great love When I think of Jesus hanging there on a cross I see that my life is not a great loss I can also read from the book of His love It tells of our home in heaven above con't

Here's a poem I wrote about epilepsy God's Protection I have been epileptic since the young age of ten Through my life I have thought things I hope to never again 'Why did God curse me?' I sometimes would think While sitting in school or sipping a drink Some of my classmates, they would often tease Not even stopping when I would say 'pretty please.' Once in a while, even adults would laugh After I had a seizure and needed a bath. But after some time I noticed a remarkable thing It made me so happy I wanted to sing Through all my seizures I was not hurt bad It was so amazing, I was oh, so glad. During most seizures I had a friend by my side If not for them I could have possibly died There is that one time with the game in the water. Thanks to my mom she still has her daughter Once day while delivering papers at twenty below A seizure came on and I fell in the snow. Someone who saw took me into their home. Thanks to their care I still like to roam con't

Hey ya Aaron, Just over a year ago now i went on a trip overseas where I was dignosed with epilepsy. I was in a different country, away from my parents and I couldn't speak the language. I was 16. Thanks to the International hospital where I stayed I was able to overcome the immediate difficulties but I still have epilepsy. Thank you for posting these poems, they are true and sometimes its nice to be reminded that you're not alone. As I write this I'm recovering from a couple of seizures that I had last week, in fact I've only just been given permission to use my computer again :D Anyway, Thank you for reminding me that I'm not alone. Sarah

Hey Aaron, my name is Anne-Marie, I enjoyed reading your poem, The Life Of An Epileptic, I can relate as I have been an Epileptic since I was 4yrs old and I am now 47. Fortunately for me, 14yrs ago I got onto some medication, that has totally put my Epilepsy on hold, I have been siezure free for the 14yrs I have been on this medication. It is called Epilum. I would recommend it to Epileptic as I believe you have nothing to lose by just giving it a go. If anyone that reads this and takes my advice, I wish you all the best. Take Care and God Bless :) :)
