About Me

Me, Myself, and I: This is Liberty Rose!! Liberty is a twin who was born with a BRAIN TUMOUR a cancer growing inside her head that very nearly sent her blind.

We didnt find out until she was 8 months old, but we knew something was wrong when she was born, but none of the doctors would listen to us, their ignorance nearly cost Liberty her Life.

But this was only until the highly skilled team at Nottinghams QMC took control of Libertys care. Lead by Professor Grundy & neuro surgeon Miss Cartmill ,this dedicated caring team put Liberty through 7 hours of Surgery to obtain a biopsy of the cancer but sadly they could not remove any of the tumour only enough of a sample to tell us it was an optic glioma and that because of its size and location our daughter would be blind and never regain her sight.

Our world collapsed as our hearts broke.
Within days Liberty had a central line fitted to her chest and was put on a very intensive course of chemotherapy, we can never thank the team at the Qmc enough.

Liberty's MRI Scan

Liberty's latest MRI scan showed that around 80% of the tumour has gone and she is responding so well to chemotherapy, Although this tumour will never be removed completely and that when it starts to grow again Liberty will have to undergo more treatment we know she will only get sronger in her fight against this terrible disease !!!!
