As many of you may already know, Exodus Film Group’s first feature film, IGOR, is coming to theaters on September 19th. This weekend, we had a tremendously successful premiere at Grauman’s Chinese Theater in Hollywood, but we need your help to make IGOR a hit at the box office. Please grab your kids, your friends (your relatives, your enemies…) and go see it. Even if you can’t see it this weekend, BUY a ticket (or two, or ten) anyway! IGOR is the story of a hunchback with big dreams who managed to do the impossible – but he couldn’t have done it without his friends. Likewise, we need your support to make our film a success. Igor Game Coming to Wii, DS, and PC

SouthPeak, Interactive Game Group as well as Legacy Interactive announced, their Partnership to co-publish the adaption of the movie-to game "Igor" for the Wii, DS, and the PC.

For those unfamiliar with the movie (starting John Cusack), the story revolves around one hunchbacked Igor (yes, there is more than one) who tries to make his dream a reality by becoming the worlds greatest mad-scientist.

In the Wii and PC versions, you'll have the opportunity to choose from four of the main characters (Igor, Eva, Scamper, and Brain) either by yourself, or with four of your closest friends. Each player will enjoy real environments from the film while battling enemies and goals to advance through the story-line.

Unlike a lot of 3rd parties who simply throw a game on the DS, Igor will utilizes the stylus to move, combat enemies, as well as solving puzzles. But thats not all, DS owners will have an exclusive custom monster builders, take on puzzles, and battle against other mad scientists.

Judging by what we have seen, the developers have done a great job capturing the "Nightmare Before Christmas" atmosphere from the film. Check out the full press release available below.

for Wii™, NINTENDO DS™ and PC

MIDLOTHIAN, VA, June 13, 2008 – SouthPeak Interactive Corporation (OTC Bulletin Board: SOPK; SOPKU; SOPKW; SOPKZ) announced today it will be co-publishing Igor The Game for the Wii™, Nintendo DS™ and PC. The game is based on the highly anticipated animated movie created by Exodus Film Group in cooperation with The Weinstein Company. MGM Studios is distributing the animated film in the United States, launching wide this September. Interactive Game Group ("I2G") is financing and coordinating the game project on a worldwide basis. Co-published and developed by Legacy Interactive in the US, Igor lures players through Malaria, a world where mad scientists create dubious inventions to compete in the annual Evil Science Fair.

"Legacy and I2G are doing a tremendous job bringing Igor into the virtual gaming world," said Melanie Mroz, CEO of SouthPeak Games. "This is a great property and promises to be a huge hit when it comes out this fall. We love the fact that the game is able to capture the elements of the film so well and turn it into a fun, interactive environment."

Igor, the movie, follows a hunchbacked lab assistant named Igor (voiced by John Cusack) forced to serve a mad scientist while dreaming of one day becoming a notorious mad scientist himself and winning the Evil Science Fair. Other stars contributing their voice talents to the film are Molly Shannon (as Eva), Steve Buscemi (as Scamper), Sean Hayes (as Brain) and Eddie Izzard (as the maniacal Dr. Schadenfreude).

In the Wii and PC versions of the game, players have the ability to choose one of the main characters (Igor, Eva, Scamper or Brain) and play either simultaneously or cooperatively with up to four people. They'll be challenged to play within locales from the film, fight enemies and achieve goals that advance them through the storyline.

The Nintendo DS version utilizes the stylus to perform movement combinations, combat enemies and solve puzzles. Players can custom build their own monsters to take on puzzle challenges and battle against other mad scientists.

"With Igor, we set forth to capture the unique mix of dark, yet playful aspects seen in the movie. It's a great game that can be enjoyed with both friends and family and will appeal to a younger audience as well," said Ariella Lehrer, President of Legacy Interactive.

EXCLUSIVE: 'Igor' Final Poster Premiere!



Cinematical has just received this exclusive final poster for Igor (click image to enlarge), who just looks like the most adorable little awkward hunchback I've ever seen. With a voice cast that includes folks like John Cusack, Steve Buscemi, Eddie Izzard, Christian Slater ... and, well, look at the poster for a complete rundown ... Igor centers on that dude in purple right there -- the hunch-backed assistant to an evil scientist who has dreams of winning the Evil Science Fair and becoming a Mad Scientist too. (And some kids wanna be doctors and lawyers -- screw that!)



Igor arrives in theaters on September 19, and it really does look like a lot of fun. Go check out the trailer after the jump; it's kinda like Young Frankenstein meets Tim Burton meets a CGI flick you won't mind spending a few bucks on. Pull the switch!
