| MacDonald Bros find a fan down under in Richard E Grant. 30th Sept 08 | 441 dagen geleden | ||
Taken from www.dailyrecord.co.ukThe MacDonald Brothers couldn't believe it when actor Richard E Grant asked for a copy of their album during a tour Down Under. Craig and Brian were on a two-week promotional trip in Australia when they bumped into the star at a radio station. Craig said: "Richard said, 'All right guys? What you doing over here?' He told us his wife is from Aberdeen and wanted a copy of our album to give to her. He's over there doing a musical and says he's a bit nervous because he's never done that before." And the Ayrshire lads had another surprise when a huge Huntsman spider they had spotted in their dressing room disappeared during a show. Craig said: "I'd left all my stuff lying on the floor. I was terrified because it moves quickly - and it's got wee fangs."

| Meet The New Everly Brothers | 449 dagen geleden | ||
Manly Daily 19th SepMeet the new Everly Brothers 19 Sep 08 @ 02:25pm by Rod Bennett THEY’VE been described as the new Everly Brothers but with a celtic flavour. Between them, Scotland’s MacDonald Brothers sing, play guitar, accordian, piano and fiddle, and they’re in Manly to perform. The number one-placed group in the 2006 Scottish X-Factor landed here at the beginning of the week and have been doing promotional radio and television appearances. ``This is hotter than anything I’ve ever experienced in Scotland,’’ Craig MacDonald said, looking at the sun over Manly on Monday. Their first gig on southern hemisphere soil is on Sunday as part of the Highland Gathering at Manly Oval. While those who are, or would-love-to-be, Scottish will gather at Manly Oval for the festivities, the MacDonald Brothers will appear, armed with a tartan guitar. The pair will be doing a 30-minute set from noon on Sunday. Craig and his brother Brian are huge in Scotland but are enjoying their visit to Australia, where they can get a ``wee bit of peace’’. Craig said their meteoric rise had been amazing. ``We just love it, we love performing and going on tour,’’ Brian said. His brother agreed: ``If we didn’t enjoy it we wouldn’t do it.’’ ``When we learned we were coming here six months ago it didn’t seem real. Only about a week ago did it begin to feel real. I can’t believe we’ve brought our music to the other side of the world.’’ Their self-titled Australian release features 14 tracks, a mix of their first three albums, including the song Runaway which was written specifically for them by Sir Elton John. Highland Gathering organiser Vicky Lindsay said she was asked by the MacDonald Brothers’ management if they could perform at the gathering and she agreed. ``And then I found out how big they were in Scotland,’’ she said. to read the article and to see photos of the guys on Manly Beach in their kilts just follow the link below http://manly-daily.whereilive.com.au...
