We've just reached the end of developer's conference season, and (predictably) nobody announced a new console this year. So, while we're still playing around on the current crop, let's have a bit of a daydream. The question is this - what would your ideal console be like? We're talking looks, functions and fun extras. Personally, my ideal console would look like a giant lego brick, be able to project visuals straight onto the wall, and dispense coffee at a moment's notice.

They'll probably never happen, but it's always fun to dream: if you could merge any two games together, what would you choose? Viva Pinata - Resident Evil edition? Gears of Wario? Personally I think Super Mario: Bioshock would be brilliant - see how far the plumber gets down in rapture. What would you merge, and what would it be like?

Here at Game On, we're still rampagng through the Force Unleashed like an over excited AT-AT. Super Smash Brothers Brawl is definitely still up there with our most played too, despite having come out quite a while ago.
What about you? What's keeping you glued to the console?

It seems a lot of you are getting pumped like a shotgun about Resi 5, with jolly good reason. What we want to know is, what do you want to see in this one? New weapons? New enemies? A different interface? Don't shuffle around like zombies, get involved and let us know.

We've all done it. You buy a videogame and find it's a real disappointment, but keep playing it anyway because you just can't admit you've wasted your money. My example? Eledees for the Wii. Looked like fun, entertained me for half an hour, then became very....very samey.
What have you wasted your time and money on, you lot?

So, Too Human has finally launched, and we've managed to get our grubby little mitts on a copy. In general the silicon knights release is pretty slick - there are a good range of weapons and nice looking attacks, and the class based system definitely ramps up the fun factor. The lack of loading screens is nice too. Still, we reckon there's something about the combat in this game that just feels a little bit clunky. Camera control is a bit of a nightmare, and the fight mechanisms leave the player feeling pretty disconnected from the whole experience. Surely these kinds of flaws should be avoidable for a next-gen title? These kinds of drawbacks are so disappointing. What do you reckon, gamers? Have we misjudged the knights of silicon on this one?

Iron Man. Transformers. Spiderman. Great films, lacklustre video games. Maybe developers simply don't have long to put them together, maybe they're just plain lazy. We don't really know. Either way, video game tie-ins tend to suck.
What we want to know is this: if you could pick any film and have them make an awesome video game out of it, what would you pick and why?
Maybe you wish you could play as Jean Claude Van Damme in Universal Soldier. Perhaps you yearn to take charge of Elizabeth Bennet and flounce your way through Pride and Prejudice. There's only one way for us to find out. Let us know!

It's summer time in Britain, and so naturally it's raining and everyone's annoyed. Personally when it comes to rainy days like this one, I like nothing better than to dig out old games consoles and relive the glory days. Remember last summer, when it rained all the time? I don't. I was busy playing The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.
What games do you still love go back to? Are there any games you wish you still had? What's the weather like?

Gears of War 2....ishhace 479 días
 
Hey all,
as you might have seen from gamerzine tv lately, we're pretty excited about Gears of War 2. The first one was (if a little short) a near perfect example of how action games should be, and we reckon it thoroughly deserves a place in the gaming hall of fame.
However, as awesome as Gears of War 2 looks, we can't seem to shake the feeling that's going to be more like Gears of War 1.5: they don't really seem to be changing all that much. They say if it ain't broke don't fix it, but we did expect a little more innovation from the guys at Epic.
