NEW Scotland's First Online Lending Library575 Tage her

We are still on track to launch what we believe to be Scotland's first online library for autism. Parents, guardians and professionals will be able to hire books, sent direct to their door for free for up to 4 weeks. To begin with we will have a selection of 20, specially selected books, but will be expanding to hopefully 100 from all over the world by the end of the year. Blue prints are being drawn up to hold local library sessions for those without internet access so watch this space! At the moment the launch date has been pushed back till the 10th of June 2008 due to some books taking longer to deliver than others, however this should be the first and last time delay for the library.

NEW Parent Support Afternoon575 Tage her

Closing date extended to book your place!

Specials' first parent support session still has places available! These sessions will give parents the opportunity to meet other parents & guardians and give the chance for information and idea swapping. The main points of the session are to discuss various therapies such as 'SonRise,' & 'More Than Words' as well as discussing the services available and the services that are still required. This helps us in decided where the most help is needed. A member of Special will be on hand to discuss the services and resources that are needed to further expand our presence and help.

The event will take place on the 7th of June in the Apex City Hotel, Edinburgh from 12 - 3pm. A light lunch will be served at the start. Places are free and limited to 25. To book your place, please email info@specialscotland.org before the 30th May 2008 or call 0784 355 9572. Families who would like to share their experiences and those who have worked with families with autism are welcome to come and share their knowledge! Although places are free, any donations will be gratefully accepted.
