- The DANCE SPARC is an exciting & inclusive community dance project which provides access to DANCE for 17-24 year olds across West Dunbartonshire. This project is funded by the Big Lottery's Active Futures Fund, West Dunbartonshire Youth Trust, & supported by West Dunbartonshire Community Planning Partnership.
Unfortunately funding is now coming to an end for this project, and the programme is being wound down, although efforts are being made to try and secure further funding. However, strategies have been put into place in order to continue the three most successful elements of the project in the meantime: Street Performance Group, Breakdance & Dance Workout (aimed specifically at young mums as a free crèche is provided).

WORKSHOP & PERFORMANCE DAY, THIS SUNDAY (21ST JUNE) - FULL DETAILS BELOW
The Dance SPARC in partnership with right2dance is hosting a FREE day of ‘dance workshops and performances’ on SUNDAY 21ST JUNE. This event is aimed at bringing together dancers between the ages of 16 and 24 from across West Dunbartonshire and Renfrewshire. Everything will take place in the Paisley Wynd Centre, a modern space which is located close to Gilmour Street train station.
The day will begin at 10.30am and will finish at around 5pm. During the day you will get to experience dance workshops and watch dance performances.
There will be three workshops for you to participate in, each lasting around an hour - Musical Theatre, Hip Hop & Contemporary.
The performance will begin at 4pm and will be a fun sharing of the hard work that local groups have been working on. A great opportunity to see what’s going on and what you might be interested in doing yourself.
Tickets to only watch the performance are available to buy from the box office at a cost of £2.50. Please call 0141 848 7471
Please bring you own lunch and water as local shops may not be open and food will not be provided (ensure there are not any foods containing nuts when choosing your lunch).

DANCE WORKOUT
Tuesdays & Wednesdays

(£2.00 if hold a passport to leisure)

This class is running in partnership with West Dunbartonshire Leisure Services on a three month trial basis to determine its long term viability.
Free crèche available at all Dance Workout classes fifteen minutes before until fifteen minutes after the advertised class times.
STREETDANCE PERFORMANCE GROUP
Mondays & Wednesdays
7.30pm – 9.00pm
Unit 23 Skate park, Dumbarton East
£6 per week for both classes
(£3 per class)

Free
The tutors deliver another session in the area as part of the Pulse - a chance for 12 to 18 years olds to take part in sports and arts activity on Friday night’s. Entry to the skate park is free to those with a Pulse voucher (under 18s). You can get vouchers from your local police station, Street links, or Y Sort it.
For those over 18 you can pay to get into the Unit 23 anytime. Please see the skate park website for information: www.unit23skatepark.co.uk

The Streetdance Performance Group are appearing at Mener la Mode Charity Event on Thursday 28th May 2009 @ Tusk.
There will be a vintage fashion show featuring styles from Raw Vintage, Tatty Bons and The Dresser's Room.
