CHARITIES
***The Leonard Cheshire Dublin Charity Treasure Hunt took place in March 2007 - 4 CUCSA execs took part, running round Dublin dressed as the 'Guiness Geisha Girls' to raise £1487 for the charity. Great fun & a great achievement! *** The Dumfries & Galloway Cancer Research UK Relay for Life took place on 19th-20th April. CUCSA raised a fantastic £1356 helping towards the £47, 698 total. Thanks to everyone who donated in cash or in kind...what a fantastic achievement. *** What will our next charity be?! Vote in the poll & make your choice count :)

  • SNOW BALL!

    The end of the semester isn't that far away, so it's time to let you all know that the SNOW BALL 2009 will be held in the Easterbrook Hall on Friday 12th December, with 'Mixed Emotion' providing the entertainment. Usual smart/formal dresscode (go on, dust off the glad-rags!). Tickets £10 each, available from CUCSA members :D

    PS: We know the Glasgow students are in the middle of exams and we did look at holding it on the 19th but couldn't get a venue, plus the UWS semester ends on the 12th so rather a lot of those students aren't around on the 19th... Please don't have a go at us because of the date - there was an awful lot to consider this year and we spent 3wks trying to decide before we booked anything!!! :o :)

  • HALLOWEEN PARTY!!

    Hey everyone

    This year's Halloween Party will be in Ma Donna's on Thursday 30th October from 8pm. Fancy dress is optional but encouraged! Expect to see traditional halloween games too - ducking for apples, treacle donuts, and a few surprises... ;)

    Tickets only £2 each, available from CUCSA members or from the election stations on 28/29 October (where you can also vote for the new exec positions). Free cocktail on entry but only if you've bought a ticket!

  • Freshers Week

    Matt Loveday: CUCSA President 2008-2009

    I’d like to say a warm welcome to all new and continuing students on Crichton Campus for the new academic year. This year is set to be particularly exciting for us all with the completion of the new building on Campus to serve Dumfries and Galloway College and both Universities. Along with the executive team, I am here to make your time on and off campus is fun and enjoyable as possible and to ensure that all your needs as a student are met. I hope that you have enjoyed the start to the year with all the Orientation Week activities and look forward to seeing you all during the Fresher’s Week events taking place between 6th and 11th October—there’s something in the programme for everyone, so don’t miss out!

    The Freshers Fayre will be taking place on Wednesday 8th from 10am till 2pm. We have been having discussions about where the venue will be. At the moment it is looking as if it will be upstairs in Maxwell House using the space vacated by the nurses library.

    Further to John's spot-on comment below... I believe both Glasgow Uni & UWS are currently preparing the welcome packs which students are sent prior to registration etc, so you should receive information about when your registration sessions are by september. If you haven't received your welcome pack by September, contact the general office of whichever uni you're joining (the phone number will be on the website) and they'll be able to fill you in :)
