Did you go out into the cold, wearing your Obama hat? I haven't found one yet, here in England, but I did watch the coverage on CNN. There were just sooo many people there. Awesome!
Are you busy? I'm not. I'm between books at the moment, which means I spend a lot of time doing other stuff, letting my mind rest, so it gets a chance to zoom off in crazy directions until it settles on another neat idea. I can't simply sit in my study all day, staring out of the window. I mean, I like doing that, but after a while even I get bored. So today I've been cooking. The weather is chilly here, so I made a spicy bean casserole for supper, and then, while I was in the kitchen I thought I'd make some hot cross buns. I know it isn't Easter yet, but they are fun to do...and tasty! Now I've put the breadmaker on, and am spinning some dough for peppered brown rolls. All this and it's not long after Christmas. I was supposed to be eating a bit less! Oh well, I'll go for a longer walk tomorrow!

Phew! It's 2009 and I'm back at work. Well, actually I've hardly had any time off at all. I've been too busy working on Team Player, the 4th Stadium School book with my son Seb.
We would have loved a proper break but it wasn't to be. He was only home from uni for a few weeks, so it had to be done over Christmas and New Year. Never mind. We're very pleased with how it's gone so far. Hope you footie fans like it when it comes out next summer!
The first three in the series are already out, though I haven't seen them in many shops. I reckon it's a case of asking for them in shops and libraries to get the places to stock them. The credit crunch is making shops wary of stocking too much, but apparently the books are selling well. They are being translated into Spanish as well now, and will be sold in South America. Hurray! Stadium School, by Jefferies and Goffe. Just the thing for long, cold, winter nights in front of the fire.
I'm also working on the Fame School Summer Special that will also be out next year. Every time I immerse myself in that one I forget all about the horrible weather and feel as if I'm enjoying warm, sunny days by the pool. Lovely!
Excuse me while I put some more sun cream on. Happy New Year!

Eek! it's almost Christmas, and I haven't written to my blog for TWO WEEKS! So sorry you lot. Must try harder. But Seb and I have been hard at work writing the fourth Stadium School book. Have you read any of them yet? They're all about a cool footie school. The latest came out at the beginning of this month and the one we're writing now will be out next summer if all goes well.
We have one more writing day tomorrow and then it's Christmas, and we are taking a few days off. Thank goodness! We're exhausted, but there's not going to be any rest because we have Christmas dinner to cook. Oh well, we can slob out afterwards!
I really hope you have a wonderful time over Christmas, and get all the presents you deserve. Don't eat too much chocolate...bet you will! I will too!
All the very best. I'll write again in 2009!

Glad you're enjoying it Kate. I think loads of your fans must be here. It's just a matter of finding them, or them finding you!
