It starts with what sounds like an alien morse code transmission; Earth bound signals bouncing off the side of orbiting space debris. Snatches of voices found out in the ether cut through the machine fog, drifting across burbling analogue equipment lovingly kept working long after supposed sell-by date. By the time the click and thump of snare and bass drum arrive, the sounds are all-encompassing, swirling around you with dizzying, disorientating effect. Noises come untethered by constraints of volume, seemingly leaping from the speakers with a life of their own. For a band used to dealing in psychedelics, this time round The Chemical Brothers have really pushed the proverbial envelope.

    They’ve sold 10 million records and firmly established themselves as one of the most inventive dance acts in the world, and now The Chemicals bring you their second career-spanning collection, Brotherhood.

    The album boasts 13 unforgettable and irrepressible hits from Tom and Ed’s back catalogue – everything from 'Galvanize' and ‘Believe' to ‘'Do It Again' and 'Saturate'. It also features essential new track ‘Keep My Composure’.

    But that’s just the start, because the album is also available in a deluxe double-CD edition. In this edition, Disc 2 features Electronic Battle Weapons 1-10.

    Since ’96, Electronic Battle Weapons have acted as the laboratories for the duo’s pioneering musical high-jinx, not to mention providing some of The Chemical Brothers’ most memorable mixes. Until this album, the Electronic Battle Weapons series has only been available on limited formats, and this is the very first time they have been widely available in single format.

    Meanwhile, the iTunes download also features the Electronic Battle Weapons series, which has not been available digitally before. This is an iTunes exclusive, and the download costs just £9.99.

    Ever since their start in 1993, The Chemical Brothers have sound-tracked numerous special moments in countless people's lives. Now, The Chemical Brothers are giving their loyal fans a chance to give something back.

    By making a short film or photograph that revolves around the theme of 'Midnight Madness' – the name of the band's latest anthem-in-waiting – you will get to upload your work onto Google Earth via The Chemical Brothers' website, and tag it to its exact location!

    All you need to do is to make a film, from 2 to 20 seconds, celebrating the insanity that goes on at the stroke of midnight and upload it onto the band's website before 25 August 2008.

    The best work will be edited by ace producers Nexus to form a new concept music video for 'Midnight Madness'. The film will then be streamed on the band's website and premiered as a YouTube exclusive on 1 September.

    Following their fifth consecutive number 1 album last year, the Grammy award winning 'We Are The Night', The Chemical Brothers return with 'Brotherhood' a best of collection with a kick and a twist, set for release on 1 September 2008.

    In a career that to date has spanned 13 years and accrued over 10 million record sales Tom Rowlands and Ed Simons have established themselves as true pioneers of electronic music and as The Chemical Brothers they have become one of the most popular dance acts of all time. Now seems the perfect time to take stock of their seminal output with the double disc celebration that is Brotherhood.

    Brotherhood comprises of 2 discs, the first is a collection of 14 undeniable benchmark Singles from the bands immense back catalogue and new tracks 'Keep My Composure' plus the brand new single 'Midnight Madness'.
